    Hello:

I will be buying a 2011 458 with less than 3000 miles in the next day or two and want to know if there anything I should be looking for when buying this car.

The car will be purchase from the Ferrari authorize dealer and it has the service record. Can anyone help assist me with the check list of what to look for, I would really appreciate.

Also, is there any major service (transmission, F1 fluid, coolant flush) and what is the interval for those item that need to change.

    Thank you

Here are some things that might help you to get started. Other people here with more experience than me in Ferraris will surely know what else you might wish to be aware of.

Make sure you get 2 keys, the keycard, books, and charger. There should also be a bag with a car cover inside. There should be a tool kit and a tire inflator.

Check all documents for accuracy, including correct spelling of your name. Check the VIN on the documents against the VIN on the car.

If the car has the original battery then you may wish to have a new one installed as 5 years is pushing the life of a battery. Perhaps this is negotiable.

    Congratulations and have fun!

You may want to find out I there is a warrantee extension available. Post pics of the incoming rig so we can drool with you. Good luck with purchase.

Drive it to see if it still has the famous exhaust crackles and burbles when you let off the throttle. There are a few left that retain this feature, not having had the software updates that take it away and you can't get it back. Lots of threads on this.

One more thing if you like the louder sound have them open the valves permanently . I did it on mine and I love the sound at lower rpms. My car was CPO and I extended the warrantee for 2 years at a cost of 9900.
