    hi iam a canadian buying a 360 in sanjose off a small dealer

    how can i make sure the title he said he will put in my name since he is a dealer is real???

    can i ask him to produce a title in my name before i make payment?

    what should i look for?

    what should i look for in the cvr report?

    I am not an expert but I believe that there are a bunch of import restrictions for Canada. You will want to make sure that you know the intricate details be for you get the car.

    The dealer probably has a title in hand and he can't generate a title in your name. What is done in the states is the owner signs the title over to you by filling in your information and then signing the title. You take that to your equivalent of the DMV and they issue a new title in your name. At least that is how it works here.

    In California you can run the VIN and see the smog test history for a car. You will be able to see when it was last tested and if it ever failed. There is a web site for that.
