Hi Hans, I bet not too many came in that colour!
The Ferrari register Netherlands has a picture of it in red here earlier in its life...

That third picture looks quite expensively rusty, and I am sure others will tell you that if the body is like this, then the mechanicals will probably be needy too....and expensive.

Good luck with your search anyway. I love the blue eBay car mentioned in the thread above, have you considered it at all?

Looks smart in blue too. A little steep for my pockets though.

If you think all-done 365 @ $65k is expensive, start fixing that rust, engine, etc., and all the little bits and you'll be thinking it looks cheap in a year. Unless, of course, you are super handy and can do all the bodywork, engine, and interior work yourself.

Closing on 30 years keeping Italians on the road, have had reasonable success so far..... Jokes aside, plenty work to get that car nice again.

According to a knowledgeable friend of mine, it looks like Verde Nijinsky under the red paint. I would guess that there were no more than 10 365s originally in that colour, and possibly none still with that colour today, so you would have a possibly unique vehicle if you restored it.
Good luck with your search anyway.

400s look better in almost anything other than red. Personally, I like the funkiness of the green. I've seen one in a very light metallic silver green that looks great! By your experience description, it sounds like you're the right guy for a car with needs - good luck in saving one. Don't forget, even if your labor is free, parts remain expensive.

    Regards,

    That green is fantastic !

I love these in any colour but would 101% return the car to that colour if that was how it left the factory.

Dare to be different - you'll never be next to another one that colour.

(Listen - I'm biased. I own the lurid green Cadi in the attached pix)

Hans, the 365 GT4 2+2 would look fantastic in Verde Nijinsky. The GT4 is best looking in the funky metallics available back then. Suits it better than the 400's,no doubt.

If this car is somewhat salvageable - go for it. When finished it would end up as one of few of already very few.

This car is 99% complete and salvageable. Alot of work though. EVERYTHING needs doing, the speedo reads over 100t km, doubt it has ever been serviced. The chain tensioner goes full circle, the chain is well passed its due date. Checked cam timing, the final cam of the four was 25 degrees late, checked just in time before major failure.

The color is definately metallic, wondering if it could be VERDE BAHRAM and not VERDE NYJINSKI. At least we have narrowed it down to one of the two.

Still, this is a BIG car for a funky color like this, not surprised that few exist today, if any.

A recent picture of the car as it is now.... with our GT4

A total of 16 (sixteen) 365 GT4 2+2's were originally painted in this exterior color.
Nyjinski II was a Canadian racehorse in 1967, that's where the name came comes from.

Thank you very much Marcel !!

A car this size in that color is a little out of my comfort zone, hence your input is invaluable to determine returning this car back to 100% original.

Do I dare to be different and original?? lol

Any documented CORRECT photos of this color on this TIPO car, anyone?? Or are all 16 back to resale red.......

You might have already seen this one on Wikimedia, and it is a photo from 1974 so maybe doesn't help that much. I believe this particular 365 is now painted - you guessed it - resale red..

You will struggle to find a 365 GT/4 2+2 in this shade today - but personally I think it is stunning.
