Brunito Metezzalatto sounds better. It has a lot of purple in sunlight.

That's a very nice color. Personally, I would have mixed the interior up a bit rather than have it so monochromatic, but that's just me.

I am hoping to look at this and other cars early next week. Apart from dash shrinkage, sticky switches, warning lights, PETROL SMELL, etc. anything else I should look out for? I presume drop links can only be checked on a ramp?

Have the Ball Joints / Tie Rods checked as well. This is a maintenance item that can cost quite a bit if left unchecked.

Also, make sure the car tracks straight. If the car is veering one way or the other, there could be suspension or alignment issues.

    Good luck.

One thing a little obvious, since most Fcars are low mileage they are likely to have original tires. Since the last 612s were made '10/11 even those tires are old for high speed driving.

My car is an 08 and while the tires had plenty of tread they are 8 years old and should be replaced which after my annual service I am getting around to updating. So you might factor that into the service. 4 20" PZeros will cost about $1,500 plus replacing the TPMS which you should think about since the tires will be off. Not sure what the life of the TPMS sensor is but I assume at 8 years it is close. I have already replaced all the TPMS on my 997 TT as two had failed and did all 4 when I put on new tires.

Yes good point. Old tires can make a car drive really badly. Certain a negotiation point. How much are the TPMSs?

Tires are a good point. I've replaced the rear tires on my 08, but not the fronts (yet). However, when I replaced the rears, the tires I bought had date codes from 08 as well!

So check the date codes, even if the tires have been replaced.

Tie rods will almost always need replacing if it hasn't been done already. Tyres need to be fresh but also check the pressure. 10% more in the front seems to be right with the heavy engine. Did I mention petrol smell?....yeah I probably did.
This may sound weird but driving position is important in this car. Only when I had a (small) passenger behind me did I realise that a forward bent leg position, so more bent arm than is intuitive, works better. It's old school Italian but use your knee to stabilise against the door and it helps with the ultra light steering. Look through the corners as on a motor bike. I know you should anyway but the 612 is sensitive to steering input and more modern cars can make you lazy.

It seems that a set of 4 TPMS sensors are about $178 plus shipping and handling. There separate catalogue part numbers for 07, 08, 09 & 10 but I am not sure if there different parts for Gen1 cars and Gen2 OTO cars or just different part numbers. Also some parts seem to be preprogramed and others are not? Just wonder if the preprograming will actually work with all 612s or not?

Those are not OEM sensors, so I would think twice about buying them. Amazon has the original HUF-Beru sensors for about $100 each, last time I checked. Those will match up with OEM stems, too.

Be happy. In the olden days when the 575M was the first Ferrari with TPMS, the sensors were about $400 each.

Is that a function of time or mileage?

Don- The tie rods on the 360, F430 and 612 are a known weak point, usually needing replacement around the 20,000 mile point. Ferrari now has an improved version available and Hill Engineering tie rods are also a huge improvement.

Man if thar car has 14 000 km

CCM reading life remaining should be 90/92%
    Cluch life should be 80%

Please do a PPI all seller should be ok for that...

It avoids expensive costs ahead and ask for a reading of life remaining on CCM + Clucth.

So yesterday I got to drive a 612 for the first time. Fantastic! The blend of comfort, very well balanced handing and of course the fantastic V12 which is a peach. Both grunty at the low end and punchy at the top end with that smooth, sonorous V12 yowl. Many thanks to very generous FCHAT forum member for taking me out.

We also had a look at the Brunito OTO which was a maybe. We didn't take that car out but started it up and oh boy! Talk about loud, it would definitely upset the neighbours!

There are many more cars to see here so it will be an enjoyable hunt!

Jeremy, Does the Brunito car have an aftermarket exhaust or is it just the OTO HGT2 version?
Happy for you to see mine first hand if you'd like. Weather starting to change though so may not be too many driving days left this year.

Hi Giani, I asked MJ and he said it was the sports exhaust that came with the HGT2 but he had Ferrari modify it to make it a little louder.

I managed to drive a different OTO during the week which actually sounded just as loud as the Brunito car when we started it in an underground garage. However out on the road it was fine. Nice car which looked better in the flesh than pictures. I think some of the tire pressures were not quite right which gave it an odd ride at low speed, both firm and spongy at the same time. I had taken a few snaps of the car and noticed when examining them later that one of the fronts looked quite soft which would explain the ride.

I would be delighted to meet up, have a look at your car and have a general chat. I have a few other cars lined up to see in the next few weeks.

    I'll drop you PM.

    Jeremy
