I have a friend who want to buy a camera in the US. DSLR camera.

Anyone have any good websites that sell them relatively cheap?

I have absolutely no idea where to look :-s

    Thanks in advance.

Amazon.com is pretty good. You can find some good deals on www.slickdeals.net sometimes. They post up the rebates and stuff. My friend got a T1i with kit lens + 55-250mm lens + printer for like $740. He's trying to sell the printer for a few hundred bucks (retail is like $400).

That Amazon deal has been going on for months. The 55-250mm lens had a -$200 instant rebate, and you can also get a lens filter for free with that kit.

If they buy a Nikon and need an 18-55mm lens with some extra goodies shoot me a PM.

Ritz camera is pretty reliable, common, and can have decent deals.

I'm sorry, but the only one I can agree with there is common. They don't have a clue about cameras nor do they have any good deals.

Crap, maybe I'm not that tech savvy after all.

I actually need to get a new Nikon dslr, low-med range for price. Where do you suggest I go to? Last one I got (which is no longer mine) I got at Circuit City on sale, but that closed down.

Forums, absolutely none of my photography stuff was bought new; camera, lenses flashes, all bought used. If you want new I'd go to Amazon.com.

For new definitely Amazon. I got an incredible package deal from them. When I got the box I felt like a kid on Christmas. Kept finding new stuff. I even got a year's subscription to Digital Photo Magazine for free. When I priced out everything separately I saved close to $300.

Good recommendations above. I'll add to that http://www.newegg.com/. They often have specials that are just a bit less than the others above, but don't have the wide range of things in stock like others.

Thanks! As soon as I scrimp together the cash I'm going rebuild my photography kit. I think for the body and base lenses I'm going to buy new, since I wasn't the brightest girl in tech ed, something with a warranty is nice.

same here, the only things I have bought new were some Memory cards, and only bc there were great rebates.
fredmiranda.com has a great for sale section, I have purchased from there often. Its free if you want to purchase, but if you want to post to sell, its like 25 a year.
dgrin.com also has a buy/sell forum which is free
nikoncafe.com has a buy/sell forum but you have to be a member for 3 months and have 300 posts (or something like that), great place also for tricks of the trade and sample shots, one of my fav sites besides here

I use photography-on-the.net, it's almost all Canon but still a great site and the Buy/Sell forum is fantastic. Even my camera bag I bought used, brand new condition at 60% off the new cost. :)
