hey guys looking into getting my first Ferrari. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the 360 and learning about what to look for with respect to common pitfalls. I’ve found a pretty clean one which I may get a PPI on but needed some advice first; what does a claim do to market value? This particular car had a claim on the rear bumper for 13k cdn. Should I stay away or what adjustment to the market value would compensate for the fact that the Carfax wouldn’t be clean. What can I expect in the future if I want to sell this car down the road?

^^^ One thing for sure, if the notation is on the CarFax now, it will be there in the future.

Run the VIN thru this site and see what else you can discover. Lots of links to additional checks and history.

Use it as a bargaining tool. If you are buying the car to drive, just get it inspected. If it's an investment, then pass.

Doesn’t take much to build a 13k repair bill on these cars. There are plenty of 360’s around... keep looking

It’s probably fine, but ya, buyers are pretty picky about this stuff.
Buy it cheaply if you’re prepared to sell it cheaply. Esp in the short term. With time, it will be less of an issue, IMO.
All these cars, accidents or not, seem pretty hard to sell, compared to “normal cars”.

If it were me, if it’s a 6M I’d consider it. If it’s an F1 I wouldn’t bother unless it’s a total steal. Too many affordable f1s, and lowest likelihood of getting your money out of it. Not a knock on f1s. Just an observation on the economics of them. Accidents scare off buyers, and so docomplex and potentially costly mechanical systems particularly as they age.

I bought 360 F1 Grigio Titanio 21508 miles on it with a clean car fax well cared for $48000.00 almost three years ago cheap enough to drive the hell out of it and money left over for service and repairs . I was very lucky

They say that the profit or loss on a car is determined when one initially purchases it. Therefore, you don't want to pay too much and will need to determine diminished value on the front side as you will certainly be exposed to it on the backside. Look at some of the articles on the internet on how to calculate diminished value and make your offer accordingly. The worst that can happen is that the seller refuses your offer. As others have pointed out here, there are plenty of unmolested competing cars around for you to be the sucker.

Thanks guys, always appreciate how helpful this community is! It is a 6 speed mt and it’s RC with a black interior (was hoping for tan). I’ve been really searching the market and have noticed that the manual transmissions are pretty hard to find.

Pictures and maintenance records seem great so I’m not just contemplating what my offer should be to compensate for the claim

I bought a 360 F1 way back when, that had a car fax for a minor fender problem that stated it got hit by a garbage can right wheel area. Nothing was damaged structurally. Fixed very well. The owner lost 20,000 on sale, I lost the same 20 basically on recent resale. The car was great no issue car. You can't imagine the number of no car fax damaged cars out there. Talk with a painter etc. PPI very important.

I say wait for a tan. I had to have blue MT so rarity would have forced me to consider cars that weren’t exactly what I wanted, but Red is the most common color so you may be able to find something more exactly to your tastes. Tan interiors rock!

If you’re planning to keep long term, getting exactly what you want is morw important than the deal you get on it... if you plan to sell in a couple years the deal is very important.

I like the look of tan, but after three red/tan Ferraris, I can tell you it is harder to keep clean, and tougher to retouch well. Black is my preference now. But red/tan is a classic look for a Ferrari.
