A restoration project on almost any Ferrari will probably cost more than the car is worth - if money isn't a problem as you suggest just get the best car you can

thanks mate your probably right, i've always been interested in car restoration (thats the business my father was in) but for me personally the time factor would be too much off a burden, i'm more eager just to get out there and drive. are there any events you would recommend attending other than FOC meetings where i can get some good advice and look at some models etc

Apart from the gig next weekend most of the car season is now done so research is best done here and via non-franchise dealers (with your chequebook left at home)

Hi Martin. Basically the 328 is the last of the more classic 70s styling and the 348 was the first of the more modern 80s styling.

I love the shape of the 308s and the 328s but hell do I love the side vents and Testarossa styling of the 348. It's purely subjective and no matter how much banter you hear, they are all great cars.

The 348 are pretty rugged cars and will do 170mph+ very easily.

If you want to have a look at mine, I won't bore the other guys with pics, it's in the classifieds, yellow 348 Spider. A restoration project it is not though :D

Martin, the first rule on fchat is not to listen to anyone who drives a 355 as Chaa does.

Not many good 348's out there, so it might take a while to find a good one. But no matter who you get it from, get it inspected before hand.

Insurance will be fairly cheap, especially if you have it on restricted miles.

And anyone further north than Birmingham is an Eskimo!:D

If you can't/won't stretch to a 355, then why not have a look at the 2nd best looking Ferrari, the good old 308/328?

And if you buy a black one rather than a red one, you won't need to spend so much on Hawaiian shirts or false moustaches!

Some bloke on here's got a nice old black 308 which I'm sure he'd let go for a pittance, as he's desperate to spend the money on a Bullworker or something equally silly and muscle building!:D

I promise I won't spend it on a bullworker. I'm happy with my breasts the way they are! :D

But being that SpidermanUKhas gone to lengths to bring it up....

And can we try not to hijack the guys thread too much please... he's looking for some honest opinions. :)

He may even be thinking 365 or Dino territory as he does prefer the older cars.
