Gee I love Illinois and Chicago. What the heck am I still here? Oh yea - family. and that's all. Winter retirement plans are in the works
I live in Lake County, my father lives over the Wisconsin border in Wilmot. If you're already looking at being on the north side of Chicago, consider someplace over the border as well. Wisconsin is a much better state to live in. Lot's of open spaces and even some nice country back roads that are a joy to drive down not too far away. You can get a house and actually a bit of property to go with it reasonably priced. Something in the Bristol area is a short hop to northern chicago.
