Sure hope that this is legible. I saved it as a Word document and it looks OK. Don't know what will happen to it as it goes through the web: Image Unavailable, Please Login
We just bought one too. Went round and round and then bought a dyson dc15 (ball) on ebay for $400. It feels a bit top heavy when using it, but it cleans really well, it seems to have better suction than my 5hp shop vac. We almost bought the hover because it is on top of consumer report and at least in the store, it was easier to use then the dyson, but the hose did seem to have as much suction so I don't understand how it could clean better. The dyson cleans great, it's the best vacuum I have ever had....the funny thing it that #2 is an old hover I got from my grandmother, I think she got it in the 40s. I've had 1/2 doven others that never worked 1/2 as well as the old hover, but the dyson is better and had attachments too. And it seems to clean as well with the camber stuffed full of dirt (so stuffed I had to pull the stuff out to empty it, it wouldn't fall or shake out) just like the commercail says. I don't know, but I've found that a lot of the things I've bought and really like don't score real well with the consumer report guys. Everything from my cars, stove, mower, vacuum, fridge.....I just seem to care about different things than they do and haven't found their tests helpful. And it's obvious stuff. I bought a zero-turn mower that is the faster easiest to use mower I've ever used, but consumer reports rated zero-turns low on easy of use. It doesn't make any sense to me, but to be fair, they didn't test the model I bought. The mower also gets the job done quite a bit faster than a tractor which was the most important thing to me, but they didn't even test for speed. I can tell you I finish mowing in 1/2 -1/3 the time my neighbors spend and I didn't even buy the model with 4 wheel independant suspension, that would even faster because I need to slow down more over the bumps than I thought I would...next time. I love it. We just bought a new house and had a commercail type range put in and just love it (now I can grill while watching the F1 race), we would never go back to a standard stove if we have a choice. They said it was a waste of money and doesn't have the functions of a standard stove. I just don't what they're thinking sonetimes.....it almost seems like the point is to help people feel good about being cheap, this one works better anyway kind of thing. Anyway, back to the point, we like our new dyson.
4 years ago after we moved I bought a Dirt Devil bagless upright. I paid somewhere around $100 for it, +/- a couple bucks, and it has worked perfectly. It even works well on our wood floors, picking up all the hair from our two golden retrievers. Don't spend a bunch of money on an overpriced vacuum. People who do will tell you that you have to, because they work so much better and blah blah blah BS BS BS...Our friends bought a Kirby and were kind enough to send the guy to our house. They paid around $1300 for it. After wasting 2 hours on a demo I showed the salesman the door. Wasn't impressed, plus I was put off by the "price-haggling" feature it seemed to include. If my Devil gave out today, that would mean I would have to spend a C-Note every 4 years, which would mean it would take me almost 50 years to catch up to the Kirby. Plus, for years Dirt Devil was a loyal racing sponsor, so it was my way of paying them back a little. I would buy another, but I don't have to
buy the ons that sucks the best !!!!!! you not only use it to clean up the rug but after tieing a load on you can have that bissel cleaner as your friday night date. a little facial from a vacuume, not bad at all !!!!!! ps. the vacuume that has the little tornado running around in side, pretty damn good.
If you want a commercial vacuum at a reasonable price, here is a link to some iunfo on my CV-30 Tornado vacuum that I sell. I sell them for $445, but if you want one, I will sell it to you for $395 plus $18 S & H. There is also a 15" model available (CV-38). I ASSURE you it is the BEST vacuum that you have ever tried, and if not I will take it back and give you a full refund, no questions asked. This is made by Karcher, the German pressure washer company. They are actually the largest manufacturer of cleaning equipment in the world, with not even a close 2nd. I will post a link to the a more detailed product brochure tomorrow (you need a password to get in to the site and mine is saved on my computer at the office). With the optional HEPA bags the CV-30 will stop 99%+ of any dust/allergens from going back into the air, which is exactly what cheap/bagless vacs do. You want a vacuum with a "bypass" vacuum system that does NOT use the incoming dirty air to cool the motor, you want fresh clean air to cool the motor otherwise this will take the motor out prematurely and blow the dirty air back into the room. The CV-30 will also lay flat to get underneath tables, etc. Also to take the bottom plate off to remove the brush, it is simply 4 or 5 180 degree twist thumb screws. This machine also has a clutch so that if you get the brush caught on a rug, the clutch will stop the brush from sitting there trying to turn, thus burning up the belt. You simply turn the unit off to "re-set" the clutch. Let me know if you are interested. I too have a Dyson, I think the DC15, the one that's really maneuverable. It's awesome. **** bags forever. Couldn't agree more. Everyone I know who reads that trash is a tightass extreme looking to pat their backs for not buying what they should have in the first place. For example, I will NEVER EVER EVER buy a cooktop/oven combo again in my LIFE! They are TRASH! Such a stupid design. I am all about seperate (and big 48") cooktops, and seperate double-ovens that are at heights a human being can actually REACH INTO while sticking in a 30lb bird! Yeah!
I know I'm a little biased here, but my dad sold Electroluxes for 2 years. Great vacuums IMO. Yes, they are expensive...but totally worth it. Lots of cleaning power and will last quite a while. Good stuff.
Here is some more detailed literature on the CV-30: http://web01.tornadovac.com/brochures/F2812%20CV%2030%20and%20CV%2038%20HEPA%20Upright.pdf
I inherited a Miele from my mother when she decided she wanted a newer/better one - I think it's probably 10-15 years old at this point and still grabs darn near everything! Did have a few issues with the hard floor/carpet attachment, but those were easily fixed by me with a screwdriver and a little elbow grease. I don't think I've ever done anything but replace bags, and I don't believe she ever did before it came to me (5-6 years ago). FWIW however, she bought a newer Miele and complains that the one she gave away to me was a better machine.
We go through about 3 vacuums per year. My parents bought a "Filter Queen" about 25 years ago. They still have it, and it still works great. I wish they still made them.
Why? We have had our Miele for 5 years now and it still works like new. Buy a quality one and it will last...
I have bought cheap ones, and I have bought more expensive ones.....it doesn't seem to matter, they just don't last. We have a St. Bernard who sheds, and we also have birds that get seeds and nut shells all over, so we really give our vacuums the test. Our latest is some Hoover with what looks like a wind tunnel - so far it has been excellent. Let's see how long it lasts.........
Military school taught me to be a neat freak and go on every weekend leave you can. Now that Im married and what Im looking for is at home, just the need to look clean, neat and presentable is on the agenda. My wife and I were given a Dyson for a gift. By far the best ever vac. So powerful it lifts up the loose fibers from the carpet. Money doesn't always buy you the best but in this case it has and I thank the person who made the expensive purchase. Other brands used: top of the line Sam's Club Dirt Devil, Best Buy Hoover, helping out the parents at their well to do home with their central vac... none come close. Go Dyson. Home wise, a clean floor is the first thing people see as they enter a nice carpeted room. Unless the room is on fire or something. Its kind of nasty to walk around on a floor that is not clean. A Dyson animal vac would fit your needs. Can't do much about the purple color, sorry. RocketBoy PS: Hoover steamer and Rug Doctor are terrible, would love to hear a suggestion on the Dyson of floor cleaners. The pups and muddy jogging shoes has left some spots.
I have the yellow one and it pulls up the carpet fibers too (I think they are the same as the pruple ones except for the attachments). I couldn't beleave the amount of carpet fuzz it sucked up the first time I used it, I filled the container just in the master bedroom. And if anything ever does get stuck in it, every air flow passage snaps off to clean.
I have the yellow one too. Freakin thing is awesome. For a test I vacc'd a section of carpet with my g/f's decent Eureka cannister type vac then I vacc'd the same area with the Dyson and I couldn't believe the crap the Dyson continued to pull up. If there's a downside to them I'd say they're better on carpet than on hard surfaces.
my parents went and bought a vacuum a while ago, its one of those ones where you pull the unit behind you on wheels. Its from sears its a kenmore power mate. its got all those attachments and that.I think it was 300 or so dollars, not to bad.
I thought about a Dyson, but when I look at them they look like they are made out of the cheapest plastic in the world. Do the hold up?
As a former Kirby owner, I agree completely. My mom bought it to help out some kid I knew at TCU. It didn't suck correctly & had issues with the belt coming off. The damn damn thing was just overpriced junk. I traded it in for an Oreck for the fraction of the price. So far after 7 year no issues with the Oreck.
I've only had mine 2 years so I can't really say how it will hold up. The plastic may look cheap but I'd say it's fairly tough and shouldn't be a problem with normal use. What I can say is my cannister section was dropped about 12 feet from my porch and landed without a crack on to a packed dirt and lawn area.
