So finally convinced my dad to get an audi. He wants an A6 and we agreed on forest green. We want wood trim (dark wood-walnut burlwood) and beige preferably a darker beige like the new amaretto leather they offer. and a tiptronic transmission with the V6 engine (V8 if possible) and definetly want quattro. We need to stay under 30k and are looking for a certified pre owned vehicle if possible. We don't mind having it delivered or picking it up (road trip!)

Must be no older than 4 or so years old.

ANy advice and info would be great and some help in finding what we are looking for. Is the CVT transmission available on older models because on the new audi's it is cheaper and more efficient so we might consider that transmission also.

    Thanks.

If you are willing to budge a bit on your exact specs, you'll have tons of choices. The pre '05 A6's are pretty good bargins now that the new body style is out...lots of them for sale. Look for one that is Audi Certified...100K mile warranty - can't beat it. Also, CVT is front wheel drive only, can't get it with quattro. Check out cars.com.

I just bought an '06 A4 2.0T and love it. For only 200hp, it is a blast to drive and gets great gas milage.

    Good luck with your search!

Look on autotrader.com. There should be no shortage. Another good resource is audiworld.com.

They are great cars-- I have a 2000 A6 6-speed, and it's been wonderful. The navigation system is lame, at least on the 2003 and earlier cars (I don't know if they improved it later or not). Don't pay anything extra for nav.

Mine was a certified pre-owned car, and the only thing I ever used the warranty for was replacing the nav system computer when it gave out.
