Hey guys! I just sold my 355 and will soon be in on the hunt for an F430 Spider in Rosso Corsa or Nero. I drove the model once and was super impressed with it's handling and performance. What should I be looking out for and what options are most desirable? I heard other than the wheels being easily damaged from potholes (big here in the northeast), the car is basically bulletproof and very reliable. Any tips will be greatly appreciated! Super excited to be joining the F430 brotherhood.

depending on age/miles the headers are really the only thing to worry about. and a clutch if its an f1...07s came with carbon brakes as an option...08 on i think they where standard...i wld have no issue buying a car without the carbons...

I sold a 360 modena and purchased an F430 Spider in December of last year. Car has been bullet proof and a smile maker when driving. The car is awesome.
Have them pull the vin and check service records, then do a normal PPI. Then buy with a big smile! These things are special....and beautiful!!

Welcome to the club. I ahd a 360 spider first, than 430 Coupe with F1 and than 430 spider with stick shift. Definatley spider is more fun than coupe for me and looks more sporty. secondly stick shift is my preferance over the F1. F1 does wear clutch. I burtn a 90% clutch reamianing within 90 seconds on a hill climb. Learnt my lesson and fixed the problem . However my current car is a stick shift and a lot of fun to drive. In addition it is the last Ferrari ever offered with a stick shift and is rare to find, whcih makes her attractive.
I liked the OEM muffler, but changed to Tubi race exhaust. This is much lighter and sounds great, not too loud, just howls like a wolf. Love it.
Make sure that the recalls and exhaust manifolds are done. If going for F1, make sure that you have some idea as to the residual life, clutch replacement is close to 5K.
Good luck. You are going to have the time of your life. The car needs no major expensive maintainence service like the Ferraris of the past.

There are several things I would like on an F430

    1) Power daytona seats

    2) Stitching

    2) CF driving zone

    3) yellow tach

    4) Challenge wheels

Don't waste yourself looking for one with Nav. It's a waste.

I like 2008/9 models as they had the best improvements and Carbon Ceramic brakes. If you don't want CCB's, look for a car earlier as few ordered the option (about 20 grand).

Most you will find in F1 form but there are some few manual 6 speeds if you want to wait for one and be flexible on colors and options.

Hi Labman, you had a beautiful 355 F1 for sale and I remember you mentioning to replace it with a newer model in the listing. Your info says you want a 360 F1 Spider and I was just wondering what is the reason you decided you no longer want the 360 F1 Spider and would now prefer a 430 spider?

I had a 355 Spider that I traded in for a 430 Spider, and although I loved my 355, the 430 is just sooo solid.

I picked up a stick, which took over 6 months to find with most of the options I wanted. I wanted one with a Challenge carbon fiber grill, but couldn't find one during my search so I ended up installing it after purchase. Here was my wish list:

    Stick

Less than 7000 miles (mine had 3800 miles)

    Rosso Corsa

Black Interior (was lucky to find one with power Daytonas and red stitching)

Challenge Rear Grill (had to install after purchase - quite pricey)

    Some Carbon

Steel Brakes (CCB's would have been okay)

Also headers have an 8 year warranty (I just removed the OEM and installed Capristos). Good luck with your search!

Thanks. I originally was only considering a 360 because they have fallen to just under $100k. But then I drove an F430. Oh man! It has a huge gain in HP over the 360 and I know the F1 is more refined in the 430. I really love both cars but definitely leaning toward the 430 now.

This is the car that has caught my eye. I think I am going to take a look at it today. Price seems good and I'm sure I can get them down a bit.

Love the Alcantara inserts. No CCB on this one which I don't mind. From what I heard those brakes cost a small fortune to replace? Also..how long is the factory warranty on these cars?

So I pull up to the dealer and I see two guys in the car going over everything. Could it be sold and they are delivering it right when I went to go look at it??? Oh yes. Gone. Beauty too. Oh well, many others out there.

    My hunt continues....
Thoughts on this '07 Spider with black carpets? Love the Daytona seats but not sure about the nero carpet color with beige interior. I know they won't show the dirt but it's not like I'm gardening and then jumping into my 430 with muddy shoes! Anyone else have this combo?

I just traded my Nero 430 Spider in to CNC Motors (currently wrapped in satin pearl white which could be removed). It's an 05 with 10k miles. I owned it for a little over a year and it was a superb car! Fully optioned (CF everywhere - door sills, steering wheel, upper/lower driving zone, etc.) AND had Scuderia wheels on it!
Anyhow I traded it in for a 16M

Sounds nice. 16M an amazing car for sure.

Right now I'm leaning toward Rosso Corsa. A 2007 one owner trade in is coming in next week for me to take a look at. We shall see...

I just bought an 08 with 1350 miles in Dallas. Two owner Oregon car. I owned one five years ago and missed it, so after looking online at the 35 Russo Cora's out there, the one in my backyard was the best one.

If it wasn't 103 here I could put the top down a bit more. It's going tracking on sept 14 in Dallas.

GL on your search, I recommend negotiating for the Certified program with the one year warranty. They like to charge 5k for it, but dealer cost is 2k

Great info Peter. I think I definitely want a warranty especially now that I know it can be negotiated. Are they only offered for one year?

I inquired about an '07 430 and they said the best they can do with the extended warranty is $4300 for one year. Seems a bit high to me since their cost is $2k. Should I play hardball?

If they are making money on the car, they should give a little on the warranty.

Get them to drop the price of the car an additional $2300. (Or more), and the extended warranty is now $2K.......

Not sure how negotiable these deals are? I paid $7K less than the Asking Price on mine, and it was not overpriced. Seems like you may be better off negotiating on the car price a few thousand than on the warranty.

    Best of luck!
