Hey all, newbie here and looking to get my first entry level Ferrari in the UK.

Found the dealer from AutoTrader, the car is a 2019 Portofino with <8k miles, full service history from official dealers (HR Owen) and last service was in Feb 24.

Since it is not listed as “Ferrari Approved” I want to get some advice on buying such car:

    1. I’m not local to the dealer and would be hard for me to arrange a pre-purchase inspection. How much risk am I taking? (Does recently serviced help?)

    2. I’m going to have a look in the real car today, any notable things I should be aware of? Critical questions to ask the dealer?

    3. If I end up buying it, is there any place you would recommend me to do a post-purchase inspection? I’m London based and in long term I also want to connect with a reliable workshop / mechanics / dealers for maintenance and servicing of the car.

    Thanks!

Without knowing where the car is its hard to suggest who to do a ppi (pre is much more normal than post) - also the car will still have included service for another couple of years so it will presumably go to your favourite local official dealer

If Ferrari Approved is important to you I would ask the seller to take it to the "local" Ferrari dealer and pay for the Ferrari Approved process as part of the sale on the basis they pay for anything that is found.

Ferrari’s being sold & maintained by main dealers does not mean a thing. I regularly do PPI’s all around the uk and find some shockers.

found a 458 being sold by a well known Ferrari dealer in the west of the UK as a Ferrari approved. Was an absolute shambles of a car.

lots of Ferrari specialists around London. myself included
