    Good day all,

Just joined the forum and this is my first post, so please be gentle!

I'm off on Saturday to pay for my first Ferrari, it's a 2000 (W reg), silver F1 coupe, 35k miles, black leather, FFSH, sports exhaust (unknown manufacturer), mint condition.

It's got a months MOT, 12 months TAX. The service book is immense, all there from new.

The only down sides are the fact that it needs it's 31,500k mile/50,000k km service and the front ball joints doing. What costs am I looking at for these?
It's also been noted in its last service that the rear wheel bearing 'may' be on its way out, again, how much would this cost to repair?

I want to know the rough costs so I can haggle down the cost of the car (£45k / $72k.5)...

I look forward to all your replies,

    Cheers,

    Ryan

$72K for a 2000 F1 360 with 35K? The price seems a little high. Even with all the service history.

    Excellent. Welcome.

I agree that there is more room for negotiation. Play hardball with them.

That is a real high price for that car!!! I always am watching the market on all Ferraris, I feel you should be in the mid $60,000 range.

Is this true even for cars outside the US?

    What is a "W Reg"?
    What is a "FFSH"?

By the way, before people comment on the asking price the market may be very different where this car is located than in the US...likewise the responses on costs of the things you mention may be off in your market vs. US. Good luck- the hunt is all part of the fun!

I'd think mid 60's as well. That is not a 70K+ car with the mileage and work required.

Ask your mechanic or Ferrari dealer... but if i have to guess (since i ve gone through this), service + rear wheel bearing, expect around 4 to 5000 UK Pounds.

Price is high compared ot US prices. Donno about UK market... If I were you, i will take my time searching for the right choice... it is fun :)

    Good Luck

    Might be a little high

FFSH = Full Ferrari Service History ie all main dealer

Check out service costs at a site like Verdi - I'd have thought it should be sold serviced

Bearing should not be too much and ball joint are a standard issue - US costs should be here or in the buyers guide at the top of the section

He's in the UK - MOT and Tax are things we have to have each year.

"W" Reg refers to the number plate year identifier. See here for more info (scroll down). This plate will be a prefix style.

FFSH = Full Ferrari Service History, as mentioned above.

OP - can you link to the advert? There are a lot of dodgy cars in the UK at this price point. Please say you are going to get it independently inspected!

If you let me know where in the UK you are I can recommend a specialist to do your servicing and ball joints (BTW - use the Hill Engineering joints, they are much better and cheaper than OEM).

ETA: Why has it only got 1 months MOT? I would expect a dealer sold car to be presented with a fresh MOT.
