So here's the dilemma, my wife and I are in the middle of purchasing a new home but unfortunately, some things have to go. I first thought, get rid of the wife, won't have to buy a new home, get to keep the car. Then I figured that wouldn't work because she would get half anyway. Then I thought, sell the kid. I've only had him for about 14 months now and all he does is spit up, poop, and keep me up at night. Wife said that wouldn't work either. She has however made one suggestion, sell the car. I felt nauseous at even the thought. With that being said, a Black and Tan 355 may be on the market soon.

I've tried getting rid of her (the wife) but she is very resilient. BTW, just picked up a set of wheels from your neck of the woods. They are the ROH Modena 3-piece wheels. It took them about 3 months to build but they will be worth it once I put them on. As we speak, they are sitting in customs at the Chicago O'Hare airport and am waiting for my customs broker to pay for them so they will be released to me.

Totally understandable. :p:p Those wheels are nice! I was thinking about them last year, but decided against them. You have a great looking 355 there mate, shame you have to let her go. Hopefully she will go to a good home. :):)

Great minds think alike. :D:D I want at least 3 Ferraris in the garage by the time I am done. Family and more properties are coming next, then I will buy another Ferrari within the next 5 years or so. :)

I say don't sell the car. You sound like you really love it and I know I would later regret selling something I loved that much.

    Evan,

Trust me, I do LOVE this car and it has been very difficult for me lately to even consider getting rid of it. This has been the car I've always wanted and never thought I would be able to own one. There has been a lot of love and work that has gone into this car only to have to sell it. It could be that the wife wants me to get rid of the 355 because I spend more time in the garage than with her!

I have literally gone over the car with a UV light to find all the imperfections and then buffed them out. This of course has taken me plenty of elbow grease time but it has all been well worth it. When you get her out in the sun...man does she shine!

Tell her you realize that you went overboard with the wheels. Tell her "what do I need new wheels for, when I've got the woman I love, the child I love------and yes, I'm nuts about our Ferrari too. - - "don't need no stinkin' wheels".

I'll bet she'll plant one on ya, and you have all three including the wheels:)
    Your child is truly awesome!!!

    Cheers, Hank

Why would someone who 'loves you', make you get rid of your hobby?

    Time for a rethink.........

    tough one.

however maybe keep junior as one day he'll have to go to work to support the old man.

agree w/ wife but have her cough up something of equal value.

The best defence sometimes can be a good offence!

Or follow my plan...tell the wife you're going to sell the car, get the house, then show her how nice the car looks in the garage! Worked so far for my '69 convertible. Original plan, sell it, then the Ferrari isn't so expensive. But oh, wait until spring to sell it...hmm, here's spring...but honey, the kids love sitting in the back seat and the Ferrari has no back seat....so far so good!

You've got a Boxster and a CLK and a Durango? I don't think I'd be selling the Ferrari first...

As much as I would like to keep it, we have made the decision to sell some "unnecessary" objects to free up more resources for our Dream House. In the end, I know I will miss it but there is a greater light at the end of the tunnel...I think.

I'm thinking that maybe in the near future, I will be able to move into another 355 or dare I say, 360?! This last year has been pretty tough on the family with a law suit hanging over my head which has tapped into my reserves.

Most of these reserves have been redistributed in the form of attorney fees, court costs, etc. which has also been a drain financially, physically, and emotionally. Rather than trying to manage all that, it's been determined that it would be best to let some things go (the wife is actually not as bad as I make her out to be).

So before I get slammed with the "you need to post this on Ferrariads" statement, I will do so with additional information regarding the car. BTW, if there are any attorney's out there willing to offer some "free" advice, let me know.

All of those vehicles are gone too. I sold the Boxster and the Durango for a Honda Odessey (wife's pick) and the CLK55 AMG for the Ferrari. I also have a Ford Escape (company car) as my every day auto.

Once I sell the Ferrari, I will be left with no fun cars. :(

Bummer, I thought Bull fighter was onto something,

But, you simply can not sell the ferrari. Be serious man!

Selling the wife or your wonderful child is poitically incorrect, or at best challenging. But when is confornted with selling teh ferrari, noting is impossible. So....

You need an elegant solution. Here it is.

    1. The ferrari is an asset, let us leverage it.
    2. current wife is a liability, best be careful
    3. The son is teh next Tiger Woods, a potential asset, but short term liability.

    Solution

    1. Use the ferrari to secure better assets. "Marry" more women of considerable business skill & resources. This may sound counter intuitive but given your posts a lawyer lady might be perfect, especially matrimonial law. She gets to be driven in the ferrari often. Choose wisely and they are the best assets in the world. Just remeber the magic words "you know hun, I;ve been thinking and you're right darling"

    2. To pay for new house, work late, work very late, often away from home. If this involves entertaining several of your soon to be other 'wives', make sure it involves some tax deductible business expense - good for current marriage maintenance and fiscally prudent as well.

    3. Knowing you are working so very hard, wife (current) will devote herself to future Tiger beater and there ou have it

A - You keep the ferrari and hang out with your new found beautifl busines colleagues and just grin and bear iut when you have do certain things for she wo must be pleased

B - You get th enew house and current wifey is happy

C - future asset becomes superstar through child centred mum (as daddy is away working) obsessively focussing all her energies on junior

You have it all - one ferrari, great home, great son, devoted wife and very successful, enjoyabke new business colleagues - which given how hard you shall be working - you will of course be married to your work, all of them...

PS - rule of thumb, more than one wife per time zone is generally considered challenging, even for F chatters.

great advice! I did think about enlisting Jr. into a golfing academy or program at an early age as I'm an avid golfer. That way, when he grows up and is on the tour, I figure at that point, I could have just about any car or house. Do they make clubs for one year olds? :)

Get rid of the wife, give her the NSX. Keep the Ferrari and get a live in nanny. Even though the wife gets half now it will be much cheaper in the long run. My F355 ALWAYS puts a smile on my face...my wife?? Well, you get the picture!

The 355 always puts a smile on my face too, especially with the Tubi/ Hyperflo cats setup. It is such an amazing sound! Here is another pic BTW. Bike in gone as well.
