Poll: So you are leaning toward your 2nd F-car purchase... Do you go with the same color as your 1st F-car? or go for a completely different color to mix up the experience and garage?

I am guessing that you really LOVE the color of your first, hence the big decision.

Those that already have 2, (or in carreaper's case more than that) please chime in on your thought process and if you still like your decision on the colors.

    Should be a good poll.

    Let the discussion commence.

I like the idea of a different color (that looks great on the new model).
But having 2 different bodied F-cars, with possibly different engine placements (or displacements) in the same color, is not a bad thought. Those who love Rosso Corsa might have an easier task at this.

I will probably always stick to red/tan! LOVE the colour combo, of course!:eek:

My 1st Ferrari, my 348 is that colour combo and as much as I love the other Ferrari colours, I will more than likely stick to red/tan Ferraris in my collection. :):)

I want to get a 308 GTB next (one day), so will try and get a red/tan there again. ;);)

If/when I step into a 360/430 or 599 in the future, will probably go red/tan again, but the 360 looks gorgeous in yellow/black. So we will see what happens. ;);)

    Different every time for sure!

    #1 yellow black/Boxer trim
    #2 Dino blue metallic/coffee w Boxer trim
#3 Red/Black but when it "chips" I find it's actually a different darker shade of BLUE! So I have to repaint it and get a Boxer!

    Or a red/black 456GT...

I think it depends on whether you're keeping the first one.

For me, the 360 will always be my first Ferrari, will be the only red one and I have no plans to sell it.

If I end up buying one of the ultra-high end ones, I'll re-evaluate that (ie. F40, Enzo)

But if it's a 355, 550, 575, or 430, I'll pick the colour that best suits the car

    Hi Robb,

I think it really depends on the car, speficically what model you are considering? I think the newer cars, 360, 430, and 599 look better in colors such as black, blue and silver so that would be a consideration for me.

I am not a fan of red cars, but I always said the only cars I would consider in red would be a Ferraris. I already have one red car so I would probably look for a different color just to add some variety to the garage, but if a great car came along that was red I would not have a problem getting another red F car.

I really like your silver 328, but why not try something different like a metallic blue or black? Or maybe even something a bit brighter like yellow or dare I say RED?

    Best regards,
    Dino

First F car has to be red and tan. You just got to go there. After that all bets are off. Almost went silverstone with the 599 but just saw too many of them in that color. While I felt that the met. black gave the car a richer look and saw fewer of them.

Well I'm a sucker for a white F-car. So, once I start my collection, I think it would be cool to have a sea of white as some have a sea of red IMO...

Well that is the million dollar question, like the owner in Japan that has the silver 288 gto, f40, f50, enzo, etc.....

I like the idea but think I like the idea of adding another unique colored TR or 512TR to my Silver 328. Prugna perhaps.

In Oz they don't call it Resale Red for no reason. There's no doubt a rossa corse / tan car will sell easier than a matching condition car in any other colour, except for some of the high value early cars.
Would you say that's the case in the US?

If that question was asked a year ago my answer would definitely be white.
However it seems that every car is white these days, or shoul i say "white is so 2007".
And i would like to go with something more "flashier" after beloved but very subtle argento nurburgring, so i guess rosso scuderia for me too...

I love my Rosso Corsa with Tan 348SS and hopefully will keep it for a long time (like, until I die), but if I buy a 328 it will be black/tan, and if I ever have the scratch to buy one of the newer models, either back to Red or possibly silver depending on the model.

Another color .... thinking Yellow or Black (tie for first place) and then Red. I guess it also depends on the model. But if I went to buy a 348 I'd go Yellow first - saw one last week and it blew me away!

............ ahhh who cares about a color, I hope I get to buy my 2nd Ferrari, ha ha ha

My next addition will be my wife's. She is too short to drive the 328 ( red over tan ). She likes black and silver ( Oakland Raiders fan ). I would not mind looking at a 456 GTA but am afraid of the transmission horror stories especially with the ways she drives.

You see, I know I will add a TR or 512TR to the mix before too long. I really like the car in Prugna (Like sidekick's car in NY). It goes well with my Argento 328... mmmm, mmmmm.

Then of course there is blue and black... and silver if I go the monocolor route...Choices, choices...

The 430 is yellow/black, while the Mondial is red/tan.

The next Ferrari won't be any of those colors.

I have always wanted a red/tan Ferrari. First one was silver/blue. Current one is black/tan. Maybe some day.

I chose the middle response because you didnt give me any other choice. The first 308 I ever seen in person was a light metalic sea green. It was stunning. The first Ferrari I drug home was originally Montecarlo Blu, but had been repainted red. I didnt care what color it was, it was right in my backyard and cheap. And I do mean cheap in the very essense of the word, even by todays figures. I hope I can return it to something in keeping with its originality. IOW, it wont be red.

The second car is, and was originally, Rossa Chiaro, and most of it appears to be original paint. The car was offered as a parts car and it would not have mattered what color it was. So just because I own two red 308's doesnt mean im hooked on red. Its more like im stuck with that color until I can change it. :)

Not that there is anything wrong with red. I would never alter the color of the Rossa Chiaro. I actualy prefer the toned down redness to the full blown red.
