Buzzing Bypass Valve

Has anyone experienced a loud buzzing eminating from the exhaust bypass valve and a remedy to stop the buzzing? It's a 98 355 (OBD II) so I can't wire the bypass valve open without wigging the ECU out. We've tried taking it apart, cleaning up the inside of it and lubricating it. It's quieter but still buzzes. Next step is total replacement but a new valve costs close to $1,000 and I hate to do it because of a noise.

Do a search on "355 bypass valve" and you'll find several threads on wiring open the valve. Once it was wired open the "buzz" stopped. Overall the engine sounds better and I had the dealer reset the computer so it ignores the signal from the bypass valve and doesn't set off the check engine light.
