So yesterday I turned my 328, one of the few famous Boxer trim models, over to its new owner. I'm not sure if he'll chime in here since he's more of a lurker. It was pretty neat watching him drive it away!

I decided it was time for something new. I think I had the 328 for 5 years. It was a great car and I had a lot of fun with it but I want something with more power and a bit more modern.

    Good luck Duane.

What do you plan to replace the 328 with?

Wow. And after that very cool insurance advertisement featuring your car.

I'd love a Daytona coupe, but I do miss my 328. Great cars: classic gearbox, analogue gauges, classic low-slung compact Ferrari looks...

(Not that I'm trying to create any seller's remorse or anything.)

So how long before you follow in the footsteps of everyone else who did the same thing and say, "Dang [or something stronger] I wish I still had my 3x8!" ?? :)

I'm kind of in a good position. I had an inquiry from a friend who was 328 shopping, looking for advice. I certainly gave him some advice, showed him books, tools, etc and what to look out for. As you all know, searching for a "good" car can be difficult. After a few months of shopping, when his frustration set in I asked him if he's be interested in my car, which he was. So he bought it. Kind of neat I sold it without advertising it. Since he's nearby and a friend I have first right of refusal when he goes to sell it.

But right now I'm looking for a 550.

Sorry to see it go, as you know, I also have one of the few boxer trimmed 328's. It just went to the shop to be painted, finally!!! after 24 years, I'm out of tricks for the paint so off it goes, hope to see it before Memorial Day!!!

I must admit it was really cool driving off in a 328 with boxer trim. I was really lucky to find a car with a dedicated owner, complete documentation and maticulously maintained. He certainly does have the first right of refusal but based on my little cruise last night and the reactions of a few friends, I can't see myself selling it anytime soon. My goal is to maintain it as well as Duane has. When showing some friends the most common comment was "I cant believe this is a 24 year old car, it looks brand new". Looking for a high quality car is frustrating but I found one that was local and perfect for me. I just didnt know until I looked at many others.

The car is painted the true color on the upper half and flat black on the lower, made famous by the 365/512 Berlinetta Boxer, ergo.

Jeff did you get lots of waves? I always ALWAYS got lots of attention with that car. Even a few weeks ago I took my oldest to a car show, parked next to a yellow Murci we had tons of people come talk to us about the car.

No too many waves but I did get a few hot rodders trying to dog me. It definitely gets lots of attention. One I get over being totally consumed by the car myself, I might notice other people waving.
