    Hi all,
I just converted my perectly running 96' 5.2 (Swiss / CH version, now 75000km) main cats from 400cpsi ceramic (in perfect condition) to 200cpsi metalic.

While accessible and out of curiosity I boroscoped the Bypass cats, then found the LHS completely melted down and shrunk in size heavily. The cats seem to be D80 x L80mm and of metalllic version. Attached fotos of the good and the bad site.
Anyone knows/can guess/reckon what CPSI these bypass cats are?
Anyone else had them failing already?

When I bought the car 7 years ago, it was running with a super loud Tubi silencer and the Bypass was continously open (water damage on pneumatic pilot valve), only god knows for how long it was like this. This was all fixed and put it back to original 7 years ago. Worth to mention is, that the exhaust made some knocking noise above 7000rpm on full throttle. I guess/hope it was due to the liberated bypass cat.

    Many thanks for your input.
