Has anyone tried bypassing the switches for the engine bay lid by rerouting the 2 wires and tying them together hince completing the circuit.

why? Its a switch - switches are a 10 cent replacement part... so why would you want to take a safety mechanism out of the circuit?

Not being an ass just unsure why you would want to eliminate it...

On us spider people the results could be VERY $$$$$ when the top gets molested due to hatch being unsecured....

I think he is referring how to fool the switch to think that the engine lid is close.

Part of the procedure in removing the convertible top assembly is to remove the engine lid, but need to fool the contact switch to think that the deck is closed in order to activate the convertible top to gain access to certain mounting bolts.

I have looked at that but haven't played around with it. I think it is just a ground contact. So jump it to a ground and see if it fools the sensor?
