What are the pros/Cons of permanently wiring the bypass valve open on a 355?. I was wondering why some people worry so much about the valve rattling and if this could be a 'cheap' fix? How does the car drive differently with the valve always open? Would it lack bottom end torque?. Obviously it would be louder throughout the rpm range, but the valve opens anyway at a certian rpm so maybe thats not so important?. Iv heard several people refer to the exhaust valve sytem as being in place to boost low speed torque, but I seem to remember the exhaust system being designed as it is to pass drive by noise regulations at the time.

If you have a 1995 it should not be a problem. On a 1996-1999 it will affect what the o2 sensors see and would get numerous ECU error codes quite quickly.

Mine is a 5.2 and it really didnt like the valve being wired open, it also screws with setting that the ECU makes during idle (my dealer hooked it up to SD1 and showed me the values were all over the place).
It was put there for a reason, and i personally like the sound as the valve opens.

Yes .............. very different than what is currently out there ...... and of course it will be keeping that renowned F1 sound ....... :)

Yes I believe the 'y-pipe delete' version works well HP wise ........... but it kills the 355 F1 sound, I heard it on youtube and it sounds worse than a bone stock 360 IMO :( ........... and at that monster price ............. well .......... ........... you be the judge .......

Robbie........ it sounds terrible IMO it lost all the high pitch F1 sound .... :( ........... it would be a lot easier for me to buy an exhaust than to make an exhaust that has what I want.
Most aftermarket f-car exhausts now focus on shiny, pretty with lots of 'look at me' factor. For me its all about function and sound........ then throw in a satin or nero finish instead of the glamorous 'Liberace' look..... The standard cappy sounds much better but does not flow as well as the new one. So that does not leave me many choices.... :(

Here is what a good 355 F1 sound exhaust should sound like from 'inside' the car:

Here is the new cappy sound from the outside (even stock 355 sounds better IMO... :( ):

but hey ....... we make our own choices........ :)
