I got my hands on a model of this today and what a stunning model it is!! It was the Phill Hill no4 model and it replicated the lines of the real car beautifully. Anyone who is thinking of buying the "shark nose" should take the plunge. You wont be disapointed.

There are loads of pics in the link.

This model replicates the #4 car driven to victory by Phil Hill at Spa in 1961. In that race, the Ferrari "sharknose" cars qualified 1-2-3-5 and finished 1-2-3-4. Amazing dominance!

Wow-Finally. This looks much better than my 1/20th scale model by Revival.

I just received an e-mail from Exoto that they're also coming with a sharknose model. First CMC followed Exoto with the 500 F2, now it's the other way around. I don't know what's up with that.

In my experience with EXOTO, I placed my pre-order for their 156 Sharknose with my credit card in March 2003 and finally FOUR YEARS later I gave up!!!! Talk about patient frustration!

Exoto has had this one in thier line up since 2005. I like to see the yellow Gendebien version and the Von Tripps as well. CMC has done a wonderful job again too. Glad this model is being made finally by whoever. It seems like forever.

They should stop fnck around with trying to outdo eachother with the same models and release the 126C cars. In my opinion CMC should stick to the historic Ferraris (and not only Ferrari) and Exoto should stick to the F1 cars as both companies are best at the respective genre.

A must buy, but I'm waiting for #2 car.
I have two things I have to complain about #4 car though - engine lid/cover is supposed to be painted flat black/dark grey inside. Rivets/bolts that hold bug screen (or whatever that is) on the windscreen are way too big.
Detailing is terrific though, as with all CMCs.

Just wanted to let everyone know I received a very nice email from Casey Kelly (The Car Room magazine) with a heads up on issue #4.

Here is what the email said.

Issue #4 is going to the printer in a few days.... The cover car is the CMC 1:18 Ferrari 156 Sharknose (Trips, Manza 1961). We just got the model in and it is beautiful.

Also, I am not certain if you are familiar with our website -www.thecarroom.com. We have on-line video reviews of scale models. I have included the links that might be of particular interest to you.

I have decided to wait until both come out so that I can decide which I like better. Then I will be sure to get it. I still have some stuff to buy that has been out for some time now. I just have no way of keeping up with it, so I decided for now I will not buy any road cars until I can get some of the older stuff that I do not have yet.

    My Priority list -
1:BBR 375 Plus Carrera de Panamerica
    2:GMP 330 P4
    3:Kyosho 575 GTC Team JMB #9 Estoril 2003

Then I will start to locate the Exoto stuff I have yet to get.

Once I find out what 156 Sharknose I want, I will get that since it is one of my altime favorites.

Got more info today in the mail from Exoto. Looks like they're coming soon with this one. I also noticed they don't mention the Ferrari name anywhere, circumventing the license issue. Why couldn't Kyosho do the same?
