Wonder how long it would take "cLydE" to get banned here -- although I agree with a lot of what "he" (whoever that might be ;)) usually says.

Steve, thank you. When I was on F'List, love him or hate him, cLydE was always a hoot! Regarding my 348 spider. Remember him saying 348's should be left in the ghetto with the keys in the ignition! Best 1 liners around. Thanks again, John.

Yes, v funny. Accurate? Hmm. Exaggerated. Yes. But probably not too far off the mark. Great debate on 355 pricing in latest FML.

He says no 12 cylinder under $50k but then says the Testarossa is. How about a 400i? Anyway, I love his style but he's very down (obviously) on all exotics. His opinions would be worth more if he liked something other than a 550 or 575.

cLyDe drives a 512TR that probably has >70k miles now. He actually drives his Ferraris. Owned a 328 prior to that. Great Ferrari guy, very knowledgeable. Helped me on more than 1 occasion when I owned my TR. Not afraid to share his opinions with anyone!

He starts every update talking about how the cars have all plumeted in value. He writes in the same style as the pump-and-dump stock traders on Yahoo message boards......perhaps he's trying to accomplish the same thing....?

I see cLyDe found the spell check button. i remember his posts from way back on Flist and the way he used to butcher the english language. but then again i know who the REAL cLyde is - i wont tell tho.......I do enjoy reading his market letters.

Is Clyde still flying airliners? Or he now working on one-liners?

Well, Clyde has never had any love for the Ferrari speculator crowd....or people with more money than sense. There's still a lot of truth to his somewhat exaggerated rants. Prices are falling - the market is flooded with cars previously owned by poseurs who never drove them. Owners/sellers don't like to hear this, of course....although many of them simply cannot believe that the laws of supply and demand would ever apply to them.

He's spot-on about what models are unpopular out there, too.

Clyde's not the kind of guy to 'invent' bad news....but he won't suffer fools well, either...if he says G & M's overheat, he's heard it from someone who knows....like actual owners or other reliable sources. Clyde loves to run with other car clubs/marques for the sheer purpose of waving the Ferrari banner high and proud. I think his favorite pastime is blowing the doors off Porsche owners, proving that they bought the wrong car.

Clyde detractors become Clyde supporters when they actually meet him in-person. He's a true hardcore Ferrari-DRIVING enthusiast, but only for specific models he deems worthy.....

Agreed. I've been a "friend of Clyde" for about 9 years now. He helped me a lot when I first started getting into the hobby.

And sometimes its refreshing to hear him describe **** boxes rather than the glowing reviews everyone else seems to give.

I am one of the biggest Ferrari fans out there, but I was curious to know what F car he was driving, when he was blowing doors of Porsches?

No flame intended, just honest curiosity.

    Thank you :)

He drives a high mileage 512TR that he does all his service work on himself. I have laughed, gotten mad and sometimes sat open mouth with my lower jaw on the floor as I read some of his posts on FList. He will tell you about his dogfights over Viet Nam and has no respect for those who bash the US.

I personally think he is close on some of the cars that suffer in value but is smoking something funny on some of his other assessments.............
