Guys, from a very basic standpoint did chevrolet model the c6 over the modena? HP is the same, and they look a bit too similar for comfort.. is there a story behind this?
4 tires on each... C6/C5/C4 Corvette is descended from the Ferrari 308/328. A black C6 parked near my black 328 a few months ago at a restaurant, and it's eerie how the Chevy profile borrowed from Pininfarina.
They are similar in the low, curvy sports car sense. Similar horsepower too. I like the C6. I think it one of the best things to come out of America in a long time. But I am still amazed that the 360 has endured the way it has. The 360 is from a much smaller company and a much smaller displacement but is able to produce simalar horsepower and 0-60 times and the 360 walks the C6 by 7 seconds. C6 is a wonderful car but it is at best a poor mans 360 IMO Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If the NSX were in there, it'd also look very similar. But that's because, when the NSX came out, it took cues from the 348 at the time. The Vette, then took cues from the NSX. Ferrari's natural occurence came out to the 360 (Ferrari isn't going to look elsewhere for models, they have good designers), and when the NSX was updated, it took cues from the 360 and the Vette as well. So from that whole thing, all three cars have similar areas where they do kind of show a resemblence...if the NSX had more power, it'd easily be added in, but due to the 100+ lack of BHP, it fell behind. Hell, even the "VTEC" Technology from Honda originated from Ferrari. But i believe that's how it kind of went, which is why from SOME ANGLES, and in SOME pictures, you can somewhat see a resemblence, despite the engine being in different positions for two of the cars.
only simliarity is the headlights that GM stole from ferrari. had a vette.. nice car.... well worth 42k for brand new one. but should not be used in the same sentence as a ferrari.
Wow I just read my post....clearly I just woke up when I typed it. The 7 seconds I speak of are Nurburgring times.
They do look a bit to close for comfort. On a couple of occasions I have seen a C6 where I can only see the front lights and I thought it was a 360.
