Hey guys, I am looking to buy either a C63 AMG, E92 M3, or an RS4 in the upcoming months but am having a very difficult time in deciding. I would prefer a brand new car, and seeing as how 2008 was the last year they made the RS4, that would drop it down to third on my list so it's basically down to the AMG or M3.

If any of you guys have previously owned, or currently own or have driven any of these cars, your opinions and input would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

although it really depends on how you're going to use it:
    daily driver, decent weather: C63
daily driver, all weather (incl. snow/sleet, etc): RS4
daily driver and track days: M3

depends on what you are looking for in a car... the M3 is one of those lightweight (er) cars that has an engine that loves to be reved and beat on... the C63 is more of a torque monster and IMO would be a little better of a daily driver (not having to rev the hell out of it to keep up) but only comes in an automatic... if you are looking for a manual the M3 and RS4 are your only choices and if you want a flappy paddle dual clutch gearbox the M3 is the only choice.... basically you need to find out what is more important for you, torque or a lightweight more track oriented machine

Is ice/snow an issue where you live?

If so, the RS4 is the easy answer.

I've been leaning towards the M3 because I want to start going to the track and I've always just wanted an M3 lol

I'm one of those guys that likes to have complete control over the car, which means manual of course. I've driven a B7 S4 before and the shifter felt too long and sort of clunky and the clutch on it felt sort of stiff and caught too late. I'm not sure if they come from the factory like that or if the owner drove the **** out of it. Never really been a fan of paddle shifters but the C63 just looks so sexy and agressive, and I love fast four doors. Sigh.

I live in Northern Virginia (NOVA), so we get all different kinds of weather depending on the time of year, and since its fall right now, there's no worry of ice/snow, but winter is just around the corner. I'll most likely be purchasing the car at the end of December or early January/Febuary so there could be some problems with snow but I can sub in my Highlander and pray for nice weather on the weekends.

Thanks for your input so far guys! Right now, and as I have been, I'm still leaning towards the M3. If anyone else has any opinions, feel free!

For whatever reason, people just don't want to change their tires for winter use.

My old M3's with snows drove thru anything. Even the RS4 will need a tire change if there is any white stuff on the ground.

The C63 just never did it for me. . .

fyi im usually an audi guy, but how can anyone ignore the 450hp torque monster that is the C63?! m3 is great if you'll be tracking, but highway driving lends an advantage to the benz

    my 2 cents

drive all of them if you can. the one that leaves the biggest grin wins. I can pretty much bet that will be the c63. was for me. just be ready for the gas and rear tire bills hehe. you will forget all about shifting gears manually after the first time it blips the throttle and downshifts for you. just put the transmission in S and esp to sport and mash the loud pedal. course there is always the juvenile fun of endless burnouts and setting off all the car alarms in parking garages too. ive pretty much had endless fun with mine everytime i get in it. try to find and at least sit in a c63 you may not fit the front seats are pretty tight.

Long stretch, but how about an IS-F?

    Personally I agree with Kds.

You can get great deals on all of them. The IS-F for 2010 now has a LSD.

The C63 will offer a" package with more power.

Now the S4 starts at 45k but hits 60k with options. New S/C V-6 with 330hp. Not as extreme as those cars but another option

Sorry, I didn't read this before. Have you been on the track before? I wouldn't start with a brand new car. Just my opinion, but that would honestly be a bad idea if you've never raced on a track before. **** happens.

After hearing a C63 merge onto the highway at WOT, I think that's going to be my pick. But I've also driven a couple of C300's and I hated the interior and the way they drove (throttle response, steering feel, etc).

RS4 is a total afterthought in this segment. Nice car, but it's not 2004 anymore.

interior or the C63 isn't as nice as it should be (a notch or two below BMW and Audi), but its still not bad.

I drove a C63 last week. Power is amazing and noise is great but zero feedback, auto gb and very vague around corners.

they do tend to like the straight line acceleration aspect of things, when it comes to cornering, its too damn heavy and has too much power for most people

I disagree. RS4 has one of the greatest engines of all time, IMHO. The sound is glorious and I'd probably take it over a M3 and definetly over a C63....(for the same money I don't know why people would pick a C63 over a 05-06 SL55!)

its a shame the RS4s engine is hung out over the bumper. I am not a fan of audis as i have always been a BMW fan and worked for them for 10 years... obviously owned many and am baisically a BMW family... BUT the new M3 does nothing for me. The v8 doesn't allure me (having favored Vipers and what not for extreme speed this is kind of a shocker to me). The C63 looks awesome, and i drove it at an amg event, I think it is hands down better than the BMW. It pains me to say it. The RS4 is gorgeous, LOVE the flared fenders, and the styling. The thing that keeps me away is the AWD. Its boring and I hate cv joints, I hate the adition of the axels... the only reason why the rs4 compairs on paper regarding performance is because of its 5000 rpm clutch drop launches with AWD... Lets face it, it keeps up with the competition for about a second because of this advantage and then falls WAY back. Your clutch and driveline components aren't going to last long with these suicide starts. AWD is boring to drive. I am an oversteer guy. Also, if I am going to drive a 4 door, there better be SOME room in the back... Audi should have just made the damn thing a coupe!!! The 3 series coupe has more room in the back than the Audi. Its pathetic. The C63 looks great. Love the flares! Love the bumper headlights etc... The leather is amazing. The ride is excellent, and even the transmission is great despite the fact its an auto. The M3s styling is just a touch boring... the hood looks like its off an l88 corvette, and the rest of it is just kinda bleh... If i had to get the BM... i would stick with the 4 door as it is easy to get a nice 4 door for 60k... a coupe is going to cost you...

    just my 2 cents!

    C63 all the way.

The car is awesome for the type of driving all of us do on a daily basis. It is not great on the track, but for highway driving it is sick. Sounds great and looks nice.

Benz did it right with this baby.

C63 for me, I've driven one and it was lovely - perfect daily driver imo.
