That blue design looks downright 'carnivorous' and some interesting design details shown on page 27 in the interior layout on the left. Thanks John! Who better than Robert Cumberford to comment on design... CH
Great stuff. Did you post this in the vette forum? You should. Someone posted some pics of their meet and great at Bowling green that had some photos of early concept cars. That was pretty cool.
No, it's not there. What's interesting on that forum is everyone is more interested in talking PRICE than any other subject -- as in how cheap can I pay for one. After weeks of talking about tail lights they finally moved on to their pocketbooks.
So Tadge Juechter says go look at the new Corvettes in parking lot E across the street at the factory. It appears the security guard didn't get the same message; though he did get a lot of visitors to chase away... CH Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes i know......after i posted that i did the "face palm" but actually the magazine covers the design of all cars,Asian,US & European
ha.....just went over to the Corvette Forum where i AM a registered member, but i am not allowed to post pix yet.....go figure
Yes, and this is one of the better angles of the car. I think it looks a lot different than previous models in this view. The problem is what you can't see here: the rear is 50% black. I think it would look a lot better in body color, including the vents.
Don't understand why some people hate this new look. I think it's beautiful! Thanks for sharing this article.
The car looks truly amazing! And they finally got the interior right. I sincerely hope they make a limited run, though standard production would be even better, of a "split window." Though I doubt it will happen
comments from the Corvette Forum from a GM Design C7 presentation: C7 design info, criteria, pre-production photos, demographics, etc - Corvette Forum Qoute from the design team: "Did look at split window...tried but wanted to leave that in history, didnt fit in this timeframe"
I haven't decided yet. I like the cyber gray but that's what my Maserati is so I might go for something different. If I got the cyber gray, I would do the 3LT interior with the red and black dash. The GF wants red. I need to see what the material looks like that they have that looks like Ferrari Cuoio first though. I can't do a black interior in Vegas. Manual gearbox for sure. I rather like the Crystal red also but I want to see it in person. I'm ordering a convertible so I don't have to worry about it until September. I'm doing the museum delivery and drive it back if I get it in early next year. Total so far is about 73K, which is a steal.
fact. for the first time in my life I will probably wind up buying a car I intend to modify. Body color paint will delete some of the gauche of the C7. There is something, I keep pondering it, that could be done with the rear to make it look somewhat sensible. Perhaps waiting for the aftermarket to respond is the best strategy.
Looking at the Vette forum, it seems this is standard operating procedure with Vette owners. They buy them without a lot of equipment and modify them ASAP in the aftermarket. Ferrari owners like to keep them "original". Vette owners like to customize. I've found that the biggest difference between the two who are passionate about each make. The rear bumpers and vents can be made body color as a dealer option. Most likely, I'll just take it to a local paint shop -- can't be more than a grand or $1500 I figure.
whoa. how did I miss that? One can get a factory body color vent option? That sure would help clean up some of the fuss with the C7.
sorry, re read your post, "dealer option" as in it'd be 5x cheaper to go to a body shop and you'd get 2x the level of service. Fair enough. Some body color paint will go a long way on this car, though. Bit of a pain to run around getting your car painted, but, then, it is a cheap car.
There's a bunch of dealer applied options for the car. I suppose you could have them do it if you wanted to be original. I'm getting the factory delivery so there is no dealer involved. One of the things I'm planning on asking is how they handle these dealer options in KY. I might have to take it to my local Chevy dealer when I drive it back or they use a local dealer nearby. In any event, most won't see one of these until late this year or early spring. They will make about 18 a day starting in August. The Convertible starting they think in Nov or Dec but no confirmed date yet. Plenty of time....
