Really excited for you Bob. Glad to see you chose to go with the 7-spd manual. That's gonna be a bit odd at first I'm sure with an extra gear.

Hopefully it will not only meet but exceed your expectations.

I haven't read much about if there was a us-vs-them battle behind the scenes with another design direction pursued for awhile and then an about face in the present direction. Are there clay model pictures released showing widely divergent designs? I am thinking maybe there was a situation like the '05 Ford GT in which they were set to go on a short nose but then they had a product clinic (where members of the public who own certain cars are invited to a closed door preview of the finished clay vs. other cars in the same genre and invited to fill out questionaires on which aspects of which designs they like the best) and the invitees said they didn't want the Ford GT unless it replicated the original lines, i.e. long nose. So ford had to design a longer nose even though aerodynamically it was inferior to the short nose and the rest is history..4038 cars sold (apparently that was all they planned to make from the beginning).

Maybe some FC members are GM designers and can tell us what really happened?

however,it's available only to subscribers.............otherwise you'll have to wait for Auto & Design magazine's story

Will the Auto & Design issue featuring the C7 be number 201? Do you have a subscription for a paper copy of the magazine or just buy it on the newsstand?

i don't know for sure, but my guess is that the next issue of A&D will cover the C7. And yes that would be #201

I have a print subscription, but they are also available locally at Pasteiner's Auto on Woodward in Birmingham,MI

    Unfortunately,they ain't cheap......I think @ $25 -$30 each....never bought one at the store since I've been a subscriber since #1,but hard copies are available
IIRC,they now do an on-line subscription at a much cheaper rate

Maybe spray the black plastic gunmetal or dark silver...... That would make a nicer contrast than the black trim and still shy away from a pure monochromatic look. It would also tie in the silver from the wheels quite nicely, integrating the components of the car to the body....
