I haven't heard anything about a C8 Cadillac but the "reality" sketch above looks great. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
About two weeks back something came out from under the car in front of me and put a nasty gouge on the nose of my vette. Yesterday I was washing it and discovered a one inch tear under the DS rear tail light; someone apparently had backed into it. I know where and when it happened because the car has only been out once since the prior wash. Hit & run in the parking garage at Station Square. Off to the body shop.
. Any way to keep it off CarFax for something so minor? CARFAX reports: Rear end collision >>> (I know, probably discussed many times elsewhere. DO A SEARCH! ) .
I won't involve my insurance company, so I shouldn't have anything to worry about. The shop that will be doing the repair hasn't seen it yet, but told me it sounds like he can repair vs. replace the bumper cover. It's just a major PITA to deal with at the moment.
After 10 months waiting I’m finally building my C8 Monday. Going to be using it as a DD. Hypersonic 3LT HTC Z51 with Magna and a lift. Anyone have any advice on options?
Think you got the must haves. I would also consider the new forged wheels and splash guards. For me, comfort is important for a driver, the standard GT2 seats with ventilation is a must. I prefer the Nappa leather. Many like the Alcantara inserts too. Subjective: carbon fiber interior, exterior accents, body / interior colors. Low profile spoiler/extended or no spoiler. Once delivered: add radiator screens. To each their own, I prefer PPF on all leading edges, than ceramic coating for easy cleaning. Probably STEK on the windshield too. I don’t like hassling with chips / cracked windshields. Best to try finding these cars on the road, car shows, or dealer to get up front and decide. The Corvette config is so so to totally visualize the build. Congrats!
bball16, Check with your dealer about the black red striped wheels. Last I heard, there are supply constraints, so production is delayed - until these new wheels become available. More info on Corvette / midrange forums.
Factory splash guards. Lift pucks to prevent an idiot from dropping it by lifting improperly. Opticoat pro plus body, engine compartment, wheels. Has good aero. No chips in 6000 miles. Would only plastiwrap the rocker panels that you tend to drag a foot over. wheels S
I live in an area with notoriously bad roads and have managed never to scrape w/o the lift option. Just something to consider.
I have the lift on my 458 and need to use it all the time for a lot of the driveways I go into, so for me it’s a must.
I picked up a slightly used c8 last summer while I waited for my build, and was sure to take it places I suspected I'd need the lift. I was really surprised to never find a need for it, especially considering my c7 scraped a lot. It seems the folks in Fla need it more (gutters?) than those of us in hilly terrain. I thought for sure I'd need it for the goat path I live on. I would have ordered the lift option had I not lucked into a test mule.
C8 submarine, Miami Image Unavailable, Please Login How does this car not stall out?! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4O4WAzL9fyc ooohkay, I see good to know ..... next time you want to cross a river https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TwbSgbMjLeA .
I use the C8 lift every time I drive it - and still hit some roads at times with it up. Can't imagine how bad it would be without the lift option.
I took the lift and a few other minor options along with the custom interior. The Z51 and magna were a must have. The MSRP came out to $99k so it’s a pretty loaded car. This will be the 9th Corvette I’ve had since 1979 and I honestly thought I was done with them, but this model sucked me back in. My plan is to use it daily.
Its not the roads. Its the transitions from parking areas to streets and crowned roadways. I never use it for a pothole or speedbump.
