rumors are c8 lineup will round out with a gs version. most likely, the gs will be a widebody with base engine. would be nice car slot between narrowbody stingray and z/eray but not really that exciting

but how about making it a manual stickshift version? that could be priced high like z06 but bring in buyers who wouldnt consider vette otherwise. porsche does very well with manuals and ferrari talking about a return too. im sure they could put a stick in c8 and make nice profit off it.

I think the major sticking point is the cost of developing (and certifying) a manual transaxle for, by Corvette standards, small sales numbers.

They spent crazy money to make Gemini engines in middle of frenzy for EV cars. Means they can afford to retro fit c7 manual to lt2 in c8

GS is rumored to have a different engine than other C8’s.

Wow. Hadn't heard about that. What other engine could they offer? Good news for ice engines regardless

Yep. Some guy on CorvetteForum has been talking that up for years now...I would be surprised if the next Gen small block appears in a Corvette before the C9.
I read, some time ago, that the next Gen small block is still under development and is set to appear in the 2027 or 2028 (I can't remember) SUV's/pickups.
