I'd like to, but PA law requires 70% light transmission. The plan is to get PPF at least on the front bumper and look into the tint while I'm at it.

The hypersonic gray would look even better with dark windows, but I've been hassled before over window tint.

All it takes is a state trooper in bad mood...

Tint is illegal (any tint) in my state (NY) but it has ALAYS helped me out.

I've been pulled over multiple times for moving traffic violations and almost every time the officer just writes me-up for illegal tint.

My local tint shop has a peal and paste option for the sole purpose of passing state inspections or tint violations and then re-applying the tint.

$60 per window...well worth it and way better than a ticket for covering too much distance per unit of time. :)

    Weird **** today.
I got a call from Stingray Chevy in FL saying they had a customer decline a Z06 coming in, and do I want it?
Ceramic gray, coupe, adrenaline red interior, msrp ~$130k.
I said no thanks, completely different from my desired spec on their system (torch red, HTC, tan interior, optioned to ~$155K).
    Strangest bit I can’t figure out is…I’m ~#412 on their list. Huh…wtf?
Did they call everyone ahead of me???

No, they know you are a buyer. We got our car because the dealer knew I would jump on an extra allocation so we jumped ahead of everyone else.

But they “don’t know me from Adam.”
I got on their list ~2+ years ago and I don’t know anyone there and have never purchased a car from them before.
Just a call right out of nowhere. It’s like they just randomly picked someone on their waitlist. Either that or > 400 people also said no thanks.

That is weird. I doubt there were 400 ppl in front of you that turned it down. Do they want a crazy mark up?

Ceramic gray is one of the least popular colors, so it is possible that everybody else turned it down. Stingray has a pretty good reputation, so I don’t think they’d be pulling a fast one based on what I have heard of them.

if I remember correctly, this color has a low single-digit take rate.

Oh, and I should probably say hello all this is my first post here… i’ve been here lurking for a while. So hello, all! :)

Have you guys heard about this new infotainment system for ‘24?
Will apple carplay still work as it has previously?
I will not pay GM for a subscription service and want to use apple carplay on my iPhone.

I heard they’re going to eliminate it (dumb), but they haven’t done it yet…a shame if they go through with it, it’s very handy.

Picked up my ‘24 Z on Saturday. The rep connected my iPhone during the turnover and the Car Play screen came up. I’ve never used it on any of my cars but it is available on the ‘24 model.
The navigation utilizes Google maps which could be an issue going forward.

Interest Z06 anecdote. I took my Dragy in the car in an attempt (failed due to traffic) to get some performance testing on it. The speedo is literally bang on. 90 on the draggy reads 90 on the speedo, etc. In my 765 the speedo is about 2-3 MPH ambitious above 70 mph. My last Ferrari was a little more ambitious than my 765 and lambos have notoriously the most ambitious speedos, sometimes as much as 7-8 mph off above 150 mph. Something to keep in mind if you see a side by side speedo comparison of a Z06 and another car, particularly a Huracan.

You can program the settings you want for My Mode and if you turn the car off in My Mode it will stay that way for the next start up.

Only the front fenders and rear quarter panels are wider, the width by the doors is the same. So for parking and getting in and out of the car, the Z06 is not any wider than the C8.

I just went and looked at a new ‘24 Z06. Red mist with black interior, htc, optioned to ~$153K (CC brakes, front lift).
I have a ‘23 SR I specc’d in red mist, tan/black interior, htc, black roof/nacelles, bronze wheels optioned to ~$105 (purchased in August, 3K miles, perfect condition).
They want $25K over and offered me $91K for my car.
So…my car in trade +$87K was initial offer.
I said, “Thanks, you’ve given me something to think about.”
On drive home SA texted and said my car +$75K.

I really like my SR. Really not sure but I don’t think the Z06 (at least not one I haven’t specc’d to my heart’s content) is worth my car +$75K. My SR does everything well. I have a Speciale for the FPC 9k scream.

For you car connoisseurs that have gone from SR to Z06…is it worth $75K more?

    Thanks
    (Confused in car country)
