1064hp….8,000rpm….1200lbs of downforce….no electrification needed. Begs the question…why couldn’t Ferrari have built this engine? Instead, we got the 296 (apologies to 296 owners/lovers). I’m more than salty.

Totally changed the game. Chevy claiming less than 9.7 at 150 in the 1/4 and they have a year left to tweak the car. It’s SF90 weight with more HP for 1/3 the price new. Absolutely a massive thorn in the side of all exotic car manufacturers from a performance standpoint. Just mega. Im 100% getting one.

My dealer is being crushed with calls from customers regarding pricing and, most importantly, allocation algorithm. It would be great if they would produce over several model years which appears that is the plan.

It will be similar to a 296 or 750s; perhaps even a hair slower in the quarter. There will be gaps in performance with the lag because no hybrid.

Tweak it until the cows come home it will not be faster than the SF90 in the quarter; especially on a non prep surface.

However if the car stickers at what they claim it will be a true American Supercar on a budget.

I've been waiting for the call of a Z06 for three years. I'm not even bothering this time. Chevy has really blown it. Love my C8, hate everything about how they sell cars.

    The C8 Z06 beats the SF90 around a track.

    The ZR1 will obliterate it.

It will be much quicker than a 296 or 750S. Much. 240 HP more can’t be denied. And it’s only 300 pounds heavier than 296.

Does it really? Quite a bit more power out of the hybrid assist.

I highly recommend calling Ciocca Corvette in Atlantic City. Best experience I have had with ANY dealer.

I have an observation. When the Corvette line gets reviewed the Z06 and now ZR1 get the same old comments that its not drastically different visually from the Stingray. The interior is the same. Now lets look at the 911 platform. Why or why do they not say the same about the GTS, Turbo, etc and compare it to the Carrera? It all looks the pretty similar inside and out. Same with the the AMG GT's and any other mass produced model. The ZR1 is really impressive in all ways. I am off my box now.

Availability and price will help determine who wants what. I may order a base convertible this go round. I suspect the ZTK aero package will be $25k+.

Plus dealer markup, were into ferrai territory. Still hard to go for a turbo hybrid v6 when this can be had for less. and is sorta better and without the fcar stigma.

Still porche gonna have some real competition now. Yeah its a corvette, but performance wise it blows everything short of a gt2 rs away.

one need only look at the markups on GT3 prche to see there is a big market in the 2-300k range for the right car, while bang on cue priche scraps the Gt4rs the one good cayman they made.

Kudos to Gm for stepping outside the box with the c8 and then going all the way to the zr1.

Makes you wonder if there will be a Zora after this. Putting one out that is marginally better would be a waste. It needs to shock like the ZR1 did. AWD and a decent hp increase just because would be the minimum.

Do you think a base ZR1 will breach the $200k mark? Maybe a fully loaded ZTK convertible. There are a lot of standard features on the ZR1 so maybe.

I find it odd how they put a softer suspension in the ZR1 than the Z06. I also wish it had a little bit more to differentiate it from the Z06. Still, a truly impressive feat. Looking forward to seeing what kind of laps it puts down.
