Oh Boy....more spec racing. How much more can they kill the sport.
I like the Caddy but COME ON, I'm a Caddy owner. I love my 60 Eldo. Caddies MUST have chrome. CHROME THE FIN!!!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Chrome the fin??? That's all you people have is chrome the fin? No wonder no one watches the sport. Technology abounds in our society and all you guys want is a polished surface in the middle of the car. Where is my scotch bottle. I think I need a drink !
It's such a pity that, thanks to many imposed technical parameters, almost all LMP look the same these days. Without its distinctive livery, you could hardly distinguish one from the others.
'Beats a "chrome dome" (no, not a bald guy's head...) like the Peugeot 908.... As for that bottle...I'd tell you what to do with it but I don' know the age group here.... And they're talkin' about the rear...sorta like the bottle.... (edit: I wuz up to Sebring for historics yesterday and I'm sure I heard a Cossie in the back of a March open cockpit SR. The engine wasn't listed on the entry list (and I never made it to the paddock) but it did state 3000cc so I presume it were.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like it might be fast at Daytona......We could have a winner here: Cadillac DPi-V.R Testing Provides Confidence For Wayne Taylor Racing | IMSA Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wayne Taylor does not ^&%(* around, and they have some young kid, Gordon......I have heard of him, not sure where....exactly..... Go team!!
I'm not a big NASCAR fan, but love racers that compete in multiple disciplines. Gordon at Caddy makes it instantly interesting...
Cadillac has done well in the Pirelli World Challenge in recent years having won the drivers championship 4 years in a row (2012-2015) and constructors 3 years in a row (2012-2014). I think they'll be successful in IMSA. William, there is a little bit of chrome around the grill on the PWC Caddy. They look good in person. http://media.cadillac.com/content/dam/Media/images/US/Racing/Cadillac/2016/0527LimeRock/3OConnell3rd1stLimeRock04.jpg
They are well prepared. More photos of PWC cars from RA last June. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think this is the same thing. Cadillac running a program in PWC is different than a prototype badged as a Cadiallac being run by other teams in IMSA. It is like comparing the Corvette DPs that have been running to the GTLM Corvette Racing team. Not really related.
We'll see. They had a very nice setup and clearly had lot of funding/support when I saw them. I don't think they're getting into IMSA to become a backmarker. I think they'll have more than enough in resources to make a competitive team. Obviously the rulebook can be changed to favor other prototypes so that part I can't predict...
Exactly. Some don't understand the difference. (However, I would drop the "really" from your last sentence... )
More photos of the Cadillac. Not as good from 3/4 front, but still ok. Daytona 24 should be interesting if the new cars don't all break allowing a GTE car to win overall Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Eric was testing the Caddy today. He agrees it needs more chrome. We're gonna start a Chrome the Caddy campaign The Mazda looks nice, got to see what other DPis coming. Prob get a new one in 2018.
The new generation of prototypes certainly look the part. Gone are the days of the absurdly ugly DPs, a class of cars designed by NASCAR to intentionally be slower than Cup cars. It may actually be worth the while to attend Daytona and/or Sebring this year. BHW
Ala Sylvester jr in the episode of "the biggest mouse I ever saw..."... "Oh BW, I'm so ashamed..." I had more faith in you than that...but I know your hatred for NASCAR so you'll try to use anything, understood. The record for the tri-oval is held by a DP, iirc a Michael Shank Riley/Ford Ecoboost, Colin Braun driving, at 223 mph. 'Took it away from Peter Gregg in a 935 set in 1977 at 221 and change (which run I was there for at the IMSA Finale). So how were they kept slower than the Cup cars? (I must, it's genetic, remember?) "Those were the days my friends, We thought they'd never end..." lorenzobandini
Are the two white ones (forget team name) also Dallara based cars? Asking because only Taylor had Dallara based Corvette DP.
