Bumpity bump bump. Weather looks fine, if a bit chilly at the start and windy later, but NO rain. Let's have a big exotic car turnout!

WOW! Talk about a show getting too big for its own good. I arrived at 9:15 and found the lot almost totally full, with cars already parking alongside the islands! I did find one of the few available spots to park the Gatorrari, set up my chair, and then headed over to Panera to get breakfast (and they were so busy I had to settle for my third choice!).

The use of the Digital Rebel finally gives me the opportunity to pose same-day photos. As my new computer still doesn't have web access, I did this by going to WalMart and getting prints and a Photo CD of all of today's images from the memory card. It was still cheaper and faster than it used to take doing it from film.

So here goes. The Country Squire wagon (with real wood!) was pretty, but the star of this first set is the car that followed me into the lot, the Dodge D-500 NASCAR replica. Going through his photo album, it was quite a job! It's strange to see a racing stock car with the original bench seat.

I was surprised to see two other 328s there: the black one with 19" wheels, and the red one that I caught sneaking out early! I never got to speak with either owner. The engine is in the black one--much cleaner than mine!

As you can see, the Porsches found togetherness, and the Speedster was sweet. But my favorite in this group is the Mini woody wagon, with Union Jack seat covers!

A very interesting bunch of cars in this set:
--A nicely restored '40 Chevrolet sedan
--A Firebird Formula from before the big bumper era
    --A quartet of Corvettes, C3, C4, C5 & C6 (a Z06 in that case) side by side (with my 328 just beyond)
    --A Morgan 3-wheeler on a trailer
--An Elise and a 360 showing how different contemporary mid-engined 2-seaters can be
--A Cobra with a 302 instead of the 427 that seems to be standard nowadays
    --A nice '50 Packard "bathtub"
--An even nicer later Packard Caribbean convertible parked right behind
    --A beautiful E-type V-12
As I've said before, this is probably the most diverse car show in the area!

    But wait, there's more!

I think the first car in this set was my favorite car in the show: a beautiful MGA, probably the finest example of the type I've ever seen. But the Ghibli and TVR were neat, too.

And dig those craaaazy-wide tires on the Corvette in the fifth photo!

Towards the end, as some people left, some spaces opened up for new arrivals. This last set is heavily Ford and Dodge-oriented, including the latest Shelby GT500, an engine looking for a car (!), and a blue Dodge Coronet with a fabulous finish. Note the contrast between the rakish '67 Charger with its predecessor of just over a decade earlier. And I had never seen a child's racing car seat--that kid is well secured and ready to go fast. (And that was one LOUD Cobra!)

And a final parting shot of the car of the show (IMHO), the beautiful black MGA.
