Recognized a couple of times now that when going in reverse after a night or so some few wet black drips are coming from the area of the gearbox. No leaking when standing still, only when going slowly in reverse. The drips does not smell oil or fuel, just like wet carbon. Ideas?

    Moisture from the exhaust?

    My first thought as well.
Happens especially when engine (exhaust) cold?
Finger in the exhaust tip yields same sooty liquid?

Tought so too, but it comes from the middle area under the car.

I have this exact issue on my Cali T. I have confirmed 100% that it is condensate coming from the exhaust joints mixed with soot from the exhaust.

Apart from actually seeing it drip, the drops on the floor are totally water soluble and wash off. It it was oil it wouldn’t dissolve in water, you’d need a detergent to dissolve it.

it only drips this when the exhaust is cold. As soon as it gets hot, the water doesn’t condense.

Ok, I also talked to my Ferrari tech today and he said the same. Soot and water generated from the catalysts. :)
