Someone commented to me yesterday that they see a lot of the 12Cilindri in the Cali T. It looks to me like the Cali T is aging very well.

The T is a good looking car. So is the 599, which shares a lot of the same features. And the Portofino. I think all 3 will hold value long after their performance is no longer a primary factor.

That said, I don't see a lot of similarities in the 12c and the T, other than a basic front engine layout

It has been a pleasant surprise how the Cali T still feels current in exterior and interior styling. It is showing its age in the nanny electronics race.

Agreed, the center touchscreen is really the only give away that the car is aging.

California/T/Portofino/Roma/Amalfi gets hit with a serious case of milquetoast syndrome—which is ridiculous, because they are all fantastic cars. Yeah, you’ll hear the usual snark from the chirp corner calling them all “fake entry level Ferrari for women.” WTF does that even mean?

Ignore 'em. The smaller GT lines has always had a place in the Ferrari lineup, and it always will.

Same crowd loves to brag their gutted car-of-da-week with a aftermarket tune-of-da-month running 100 psi can “smoke” an F80 for a tenth of the price—The hard cope can be very real.

I'd take a Cali t over a 911 turbo any day of the week.

    I chose a Cali 30HS over a 911 Turbo. No regrets.

I do see the similarity. Get rid of the similar paint and they are very different shapes

I think the cali t is a much cleaner looking car.

I'm not a fan of busy designs. But I still like the 12cylindri.

I don't see the similarity with the 12c. The 12c has a shorter nose, different windshield rake, different roofline and no separate trunk. Really no similarity. But I'm not a fan of the 12c so that's a plus. I liked the cali t that was in the showroom when I picked up my car and always thought it would be a great car for my oldest daughter as a graduation present. She didn't graduate so no cali t.

    Y turbos require 5 speeds although I'm heavily considering a specific 79

Well, I guess the question is... what is meant by classic? I guess classic doesn't have to mean good looking or aesthetically pleasing. So, in that definition, it could be 'classic'. Like a model T or 1970-1980's station wagons or things like that. But if the thread was about being a classic look meaning something of beauty, the answer in my opinion is no. The Cali was just one of MANY failed, ugly Pinanfarina designs. And before anyone goes all crazy and starts spouting off about how great Pinanfarina was, you gotta be honest.. Yes, they had a few good looking cars (like 2 or 3) but if you think a Cali, a 348, a 458, a 308, 328 or even an F40 etc etc look anywhere near as good as a Pista, an F8, an 812 or an SF90, I'd say you're crazy.

I don't know what that means as I just had my 56th birthday.. but anyway, don't get upset or offended where you need to attempt insults, it's just my aesthetic opinion.
