    Morning all,

Recently got a MY 2015 Cali T in Rosso California with the black pillars and roof.

Dropped off this morning for PPF and Ceramic coating and the dealer noticed that the black pillars and roof were actually a vinyl wrap which were so so fitted.

I had assumed that the black roof was a factory option and on the Ferrari app it does note the car has the Extracampionario- Not Standard - EXTERNAL COLORS which I assumed was the black roof and pillars.

So my question is did those Italian scamps cut corners and factory fit a black vinyl wrap over the red metal or is this an aftermarket option?

I can just leave it as is or have him remove the wrap ofc, although he did note that he can't guarantee that there might not be some paintwork damage as they appeared to do freehand cuts.

Before purchasing I thought that the roof in original exterior colour looked cleaner, but I've really warmed to the black.

First world problems I know, but this is definitely the place for them :)

The option for the black roof is BIC2 TWO TONE BODY PAINTING BIC2. It was an $8000 option on the Portofino M, not sure on the California T, My 458 has a grigio wrapped roof and I think they both look great.

I am guessing the Rosso California exterior is the not standard reference. We have a similar line about Rosso Portofino.

The factory would not have installed vinyl wrap, it would have been painted.

Regarding the Extracampionario color, that usually referring to the body color as a whole, what does the yellow sticker on the underside of the hood indicate?

Hey Safe4now, Perfect - that's what I wanted to confirm. The label says Rosso California, so I guess the Extracampionario option just refers to the exterior paint colour.

    cheers

    Found this useful site: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/2015-Ferrari-California-T-Trims-c26889.

Rosso California was a premium paint: "ROC Rosso California $12,486"
The painted roof would have been "BIC2 Two-Tone Exterior Paint $7,593"

Hey again Rob. Thats a very useful link. Thanks buddy.

Decided to keep the black vinyl for now. My PPF guy will try and fix it up a little.

It does make the car look a little meaner and smoothes out the gaps between the roof partitions somewhat.

You can now get PPF in Black which looks much better than wrap as it is softer and handles the curves much better
