We had a glorious weekend in Sarasota at the FCA Florida regional meet, driving out on Sunday morning my Cali T overheated and flashed a warning after 5-7 miles, coolant temp was in the red. I pulled off, shut off. Coolant reservoir was full, fluid in reservoir not hot. Let car cool down for an hour, restarted and tried to make it to a shop my FCA friends recommended. Car was OK for about 5 miles, once temp reached 170 it shot up like a rocket into the red again. I gave up, had car towed to the shop and drove back to Key West through the monsoon in a rental. I'm guessing thermostat, have seen this behavior before in mortal cars. May be water pump, but when they fail in my other cars they always leak and drain the reservoir, not sure if that's typical in a V8 Ferrari. Awaiting report from the shop now....

Hope it turns out ok for you. How long have you had the car and how many miles?

If car is not leaking antifreeze - my vote is thermostat.

I have had the car three and a half years and love it, my first Ferrari after 15 years of Porsche 911s. Car has 37K miles. The shop where it sits has not been able to estimate the repair as the Ferrari parts department is closed for August? I have the factory power warranty, my advisor at Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale tells me he can have it picked up and transported to their shop on tuesday.....not sure how to proceed at this point.

If you have the Power Warranty and the Ferrari mobile app, the tow should be free ...

I guess as long as you have the power warranty you should be good and covered? Following the thread in case this happens to me one day lol

Pinhole leak in the upper radiator hose, apparently I don't know how to check the coolant level:confused:, The price for the inspection and New Power Warranty is now $7600, it has gone up about $1000 a year every year I have owned the car.
