Just put the roof down and manually disengaged the parking break and it won't stop bleeping whether the car is switched on or not! Sitting in it now and would be grateful for any advice! Thanks, Dan

Roof down engaged properly and now back up. Car recognises that boot and roof are closed properly.

Any other ideas Grey? Wanted to try disconnecting the battery - but not even sure where to start. Ferrari 'assistance' can't help until tomorrow.

Been advised not to reset the battery as could damage the car. Does this sound right?

Advised by whom ? It seems illogical to put it in the manual if you are then told not to try it

Having said that if Ferrari Assist (I'm guessing) have told you not to then its on tape and could then become a warranty issue

It was the dealer that I bought the car from! Got Ferrari assistance coming out to do the same. The dealer said it was nothing he'd ever heard of! I'll advise of the outcome. Thanks.

Had the same problem with my 458. Behind the passenger footwell plate is the battery. There is a quick release (on the Italia, the Cali may need a wrench) for the negative terminal. Remove the negative cable for 5 minutes. Then reconnect and turn on the ignition without starting the car for 30 seconds. Then start the car and let run for a few minutes. It ought to reset everything. You'll need to reset your presets such as radio, etc. DISCLAIMER: I am not a mechanic. I merely did this with my car. Good luck.

    Amazing weather in London?
    That sounds like an oxymoron.

keys in it, me out. (try weight on front seat)
    Sensors front and or back
    Seatbelt
going from 1 to N when stopped to long at light
    low gas
Roof failure (still got to post this drama)
    Roof not fully open/closed
trunk space lid up while trying to close roof

Thought I'd update the group on what the problem was in the event that anybody encounters it...as I had manually disengaged the parking brake whilst putting the roof down, the computer registered the roof cycle as being incomplete, hence the continual beeping which is supposed to be a warning.

The only fix is at the dealer where they plug into the computer and override. It was a pain in the proverbial, but dealer was great and even though it was my fault, carried out everything under warranty.

    Thanks to everyone who helped!

Good to know. But having to take the car to a dealer for that is retarded. Similarly, I was trying to put the stupid car up my ramps to disconnect the exhaust valves, and it kept disengaging reverse. Had to manually put the ramps under the tires so the sensors didn't detect them anymore. Geez.

there is a switch in the engine compartment on the battery I would turn the battery off and then allow it to reset . you may need to reset the remote just follow the procedure in the manual. My car had the problem with the roof when new the dealer did what I just said and it has been fine for 8 months and 4500 miles . ALso make sure the battery is alway charged as the car is sensitive to the full battery charge .
    Good luck
