So I remember seeing a thread where someone found the proper vacuum line under the hood that you disconnect, plug with a screw or golf tee and then the valves on the exhaust stay open. This is an easier way than taking the rear diffuser off and disconnecting the lines at the mufflers.

I searched the forum and can't for the life of me find the thread. Any help?

I recommend replacing the factory exhaust system with a motec system, pair that with an AEM cold air intake and you should be running 9s

Sgt Tanner hasn't approved that for the budget.

Is there a simple way to keep the flaps open for the Cali T as well?

Or do I have to visit the dealer / retrofit the HS exhaust...?

On the Cali swapping the Stock cats for the a set of sport cats would help get a ton more sound and performance. Unplugging the vacuum lines to keep the valves open creates a monster of a car.:)

Could you simply “pinch” or clamp the vacuum hose instead of pulling it out and plugging it?

Some of these hoses are in hard to reach locations but would be very easy to simply place a clamp across it.

    Yes.
Use a brake pipe clamp, I did this with my old 599
