I had some choice words for the california when it was first introduced. That is until I saw 2 in Marrenello. The sound was pretty raw as one of Enzo's umpa lumpas was spinning one around town. Took a really close look at the one in the museum and although I think is the furthest from the ideals of what ferrari represents... (no offense but I still think it's kinda girly), in it's own way it is a beautiful (and powerful) Ferrari.

That's a really nice shot , I like it...and I'm not a huge fan of the California actually.
    Hmm.

I agree. I also like the black piping and black stitched cavallino on the headreasts.

Are we still this delusional in Scandinavia? Honestly, I don't think beauty cares about nationality. But that's just me. ;)

That is a dynamite color combination. I saw a wide variety of colors displayed like a peacock at the launch, but this one is probably my favorite, though the dark gray over burgundy is also quite striking.

His pics I don't believe do the car justice. It's hard to take pictures of cars in the direct sun.
If he got the correct wheels, lowered it with a color change on the rim it looks a whole lot different

Ferrari of Washington (FOW) just received a black/black California this week and has it on display in their showroom.
I posted some pictures of it in this Mid-Atlantic thread:

The black/black color combo is a good one for the car, IMHO.

    Hey that looks great!

I think that is what they were trying to echo with the original design- the wrap arouind look of the mesh above the diffuser on the scud and 16M. The reason they can't have the exhaust this way on the road car is that first you would practically eliminate the trunk and second for safety, you might burn your legs while accessing the trunk.

But maybe a Challenge California will adopt this look!

    Great!

Can you do one more with stacked tail pipes in the black mesh?

I think that would look even better!

^^^ that is a vast improvement, seemingly quite simple but yet undone; would have unified the overall design much better.

wow, makes the rear look much better w/ that diffuser. but is it technically possible w/ the folding hardtop?

I don't see a true bumper in this design. The trunk lid is not strong enough to be a bumper not would you want it to be- a mild kiss and the repair bill could be $75,000 or more with the folding mechanism.

That diffuser mesh would have to protrude a bit and then be a faux covering for a structural member serving as a bumper, in my uneducated opinion.

But I like the sportiness of the design
