Dear all, as you all well know my C4S PDK was sold in a flash and 20 months' ownership shows a next to zero ownership costs... all of you will have more experience... but in terms of servicing... what kind of stuff are we looking at? Over here, we hv a 3 year unlimited warranty and many of you said new age Ferrari a lot easier to maintain and a lot more realiable...but my 911 never disappointed me, zip problem... but for 3 years warranty, I can't see anything too bad as a daily driver... I am talking 8000 km/ year deal (is that a lot?)... oil change, wear and tear... but how about the ceramic brakes... ? are they costly to replace... the discs should not wear but the brake pads and all? Of course 911 is hardy... they are made to NEVER BREAK? I presume Porsche has lowest maintenance costs but what's your educated guess on the California's costs?

I had new 997TT with 1700 miles on it that leaked oil all over the garage floor. Took it in and they found bad oil pump. Great car but they do have problems too...

Costs are should be pretty low. No belts to change, and clutches and brakes should last a long time.

Had mine almost 8 months, over 9K miles and the only service cost was an oil change.

According to the manual, should average one planned service a year.

In my porsches, I went through new tires (rear) about yearly. I do like to get it in the shop for a yearly check (early oil change, brake bleed, etc.). The Cali maintenance needs remain to be seen, but it looks good. The CCBs ought to last a long time as long as they are not frequently overheated. The clutch is supposed to last.....forever. Hee hee. If driven 8000 km/yr, personally, I would change the oil yearly. That's just me.

I have 5,000km I'm on my California since May 6 - was worried about maintenance also - my dealer tells me service is every 20,000km but recommends a service every year to check the basics and change oil etc. For me the yearly service seems the way to go and will also do any touch-ups that need to be done. Also reading about detailing in one of the other threads - maybe that's something I will also do every 3 months or so. Just love the car and never thought I'd be using a Ferrari as an everyday driver!!

That's the right attitude! Plus driving a car actually can help keep the thing out of the service garage!

No point not driving it... garage queen tends to not be so well kept... many said when you don't drive them or run them, the engine will be more susceptible to problems as well as batteries... they are made to prance and run like horses... not domesticated...

    Hey Rick L-
I couldn't reply to your PM because you have your profile set to block PM.

The oil change costs about $350.

Thanks, my dealer said no one had one there yet but was guessing $800 ... so we will see. I probably will take it in for the oil change in a couple weeks. And I will change my profile. Thanks again

Nothing to do with service costs - my dealer had to replace my floor mats - was shocked at the cost of mats - Australian$ 1,800 for both. Fortunately was his cost!!

I just had a service done and it came to a little over $1000. It included Oil service and full inspection as well as brake fluid flush which I didn't understand, since the manual doesn't call for it until 2yrs. It was a couple hundred bucks so I said ok...

They also did all the update campaigns for the top, magnaride, gearbox software reflash, and a couple of other misc items.

I'm taking mine tomorrow morning and will give details. 9,700 miles and have time to drive to Columbus, get the work done and pick up my son from Ohio State University.

Good work Forge! Mine went over 10,000 miles on the way back from the dealer yesterday. Took them about 3 hours including cleaning the inside and outside. They changed oil, filter, and pollen filter. They also changed brake fluid. No recalls for my car. $669 total. Much better than I thought it might be. Midwest Auto Group has a bunch of good guys!
