    My side mirrors do not retract, but the knob still controls mirror adjustment. Any recommendation on where to start my diagnostics?

    I believe the California side mirrors are manual retract only, no power option

    No, if you turn your knob on the mirror control to the -><- symbol (which is retract) located at the 6 o'oclock position they should retract.

    You are correct sherrillt, the California does have power retractable side mirrors :D

    What other secrets are you hiding?

    Round 1
    Check fuses, scan for codes, if no codes then remove mirror switch, check for continuity and power or hard electrical reset at the battery, which ever one is easier first
