    Hi All,

I recently noticed the front lateral grills on my California T are showing signs of rock chips and have a salt and pepper appearance. The part number is 85083700 for reference. Any recommendations to restore each grill to the gloss black it originally comes in?

Do a quick search for detailing trim restorer and poke around. It’s the simplest place to start. Most of these wear off, so if you don’t like the look or if it doesn’t provide the coverage you wanted, then no worries.
Also see here for quality instruction and something more long lasting:

    Good luck!

Hi there - thank you for the response. I believe the lateral grates are actually metal and not plastic.

On my Portofino,I use Rustoleum gloss black and a little fine-point artist's brush for easy touch-up. Touch-up is needed after almost every weekend.

I don't know what is involved in removing those grills, but it would be nice to have a stronger finish like powder coating.
