    Hi guys,
    Yet another new product press release.
    We have been busy.
    This one is a pad and piston spreader for opposed piston and multi piston calipers. This is a tool you wont want to live without if you ever service multi piston calipers. It will spread the pads to remove them and then the pistons evenly into the bores. No more scratching up your calipers with pliers and what ever tools we have all tried to use to do this frustrating job.

    How am I going to squeze that plate between the disk and brake pad w/o spreading it apart first with a screwdriver?

    You use the tool after you've removed the caliper from the disc.

    I just use a C-clamp with a ground down arm so it fits in between the pads. Put a block of wood on the outside, Compress the pistons one side, then switch the clamp & block over & compress the pistons on the other side.

    Hmm, think I also saw a spreading kit in the tools that AZ loans out.

    However, if I were doing this on a regular basis, this tool sure looks easy/quick to use... Would increase productivity.

    The tool is originally designed specifically for racing, for use in the pits with quick pad changes during endurance events. It also makes it handy as a shop tool.

    First you place the corners of the spreader between the pads in the caliper and spread them. The pads will then come out super easy.
    Then, without pads, there is plenty of space where the pads were between the rotor and pistons. Just slide it in and squeeze.
    No need to remove the caliper at all.

    Ill send pics of it in action asap.

    Here are two promised pics of the spreader in action on the workbench.
    The job is the same on car to change pads, no need to remove the caliper. On car, the rotor would still be in place, but the spreader flanges go in-between the pistons and rotor.
    The pics show how the pads are spread to loosen them initially. Once the pads are removed, just inset and spread all the pistons evenly back into the bores and insert new pads.
