This is a call out to all Original, 2nd Generation and want to be future Stooges! The covid period played havoc on our ranks. Too many have moved away, or heaven forbid, have sold (or are considering selling) their Ferrari's. As our 348's and 355's (and 308's, 328's, 550's, 575's, Mondial's and other now vintage Ferrari's) age gracefully, the need for some good Stooging to keep them running is even more dire today. Many of the dealers and independent shops are losing the skill to work on these. Do you realize that the 355 turns 30 this year? And that was a "modern" Ferrari. Who is going to keep them on the road if not for Stooges? I'm in for again hosting a Stoogeapalozza in the Fall but do we have anyone willing to step up and host a Spring/ early Summer event? You may need to come up with a new name as I hear Stoogefest may be retired. Can we get a Stooge roll call and a possible list of potential hosts? All you need is a driveway, some parking and, in some cases, a wife that doesn't get too pissed off when a dozen Ferraris converge for a party.
I'm like dog poop I'm everywhere LOL Can't host one right now got a ton of stuff going on around the house Hopefully next year be warned, I'll have food drugs and booze with the fruit trees to use as mixers so may need to uber LOL I still work on mine they are pretty simple Image Unavailable, Please Login
Im planning my 355 engine out service for later this year and my 612 belts, bearings and springs for July.
Stooges are getting older like the cars and moving slower. Early Summer is in a month! Can anyone move that fast anymore? I think fall sounds good for stoogapoluza. We need a theme like, "Eat less Fix more" or "Fibs, Half-truths, and down right lies" Stoogefest retired? We can call it "Gathering of the knuckleheads" I always wanted to try getting Stooges together to do an Auto-x. It feels like racing but you barely get to the speed limit and it is really hard to damage your car. It is the perfect event for polishing and sporting at the same time. We can get BBQ's out and tents for the sun and race through orange traffic cone course with SCCA or other venue. Lake elsinore and Sandiego are popular places where Auto-x is held. If we go back to working on cars who will need oil changes and brake system flushes, diff oil changes and A/C recharges? A good number of those can keep us busy.
Anybody interested in an east coast version? I can host in mid atlantic - picking up a carb'd 400 to go with my 355 so will be wrenching on that.
I would love to host, ample driveway space, downtown location, and am deep into the stooge antics. Only caveat being I left my roots in so-cal and am in Michigan.
Count me in. Can't host, as I'm on a busy street that wouldn't work for this (and have a tiny driveway), but would be grateful to attend a SoCal gathering.
We could have the engine out and a list of stuff to order by the end of the event...and leave you with the mess to clean up...dripping oil and coolant.
Since you are a track guy…have you driven laguna scca? it’s like the west coast WGI…you gotta drive it. You fly in and we do stoogapolluza in SoCal on Friday august 23rd then drive up to laguna in NorCal. You can run my spec corvette racecar for the weekend. Monday I drop you at airport in NorCal to fly back east. There are probably other track day dates I could research if that would tempt you. If stoogeday was Saturday we could still get to laguna and you could drive all day Sunday then fly home Monday. You only live once! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Carl, All my track experience is at East Coast tracks - WGI, LRP, Pocono, NJMP Lightning, Sebring and Daytona. Thank-you for your kind and generous offer but all my 2024 track days and motel stays are booked through mid-September. There's always 2025! Let's not get too old until then. Part of the fun for me would be to experience stoogapolluza and how all you guys get together and prep your track cars. I enjoyed all the pictures you all posted. We don't have anything like that here in the East. I'll have to ask Pocono Sportscar if they go to Laguna Seca. I think they do. My Car would enjoy a cross-country journey. By the way, years ago I tried surfing at one of the beaches Mike Love mentioned in Surfing USA. I think it was Redondo Beach. The water was ice cold and full of kelp. And I was there in August! Barry
Water is cold here. That's why I never got into surfing but I fish off redondo beach about twice a week in the spring/summer mornings. Yes get to laguna. Nothing more fun than traveling to racetracks. I'm off to mid-0 in a may and WGI in June. I really want to go to barber...maybe 2025...but I also want to race at spa and silverstone.
Ok, give me a date in June and I'll host it. I think my calendar is pretty clear so far. Later June maybe. Anyone up for it?
