Are you intending to compete in the Adelaide Classic in November and you want a u-beaut timing and mapping system to be competitive with in whatever your'e driving?

All you need is a windows laptop and a connectable GPS as I have some superb software for you with detailed maps, timing functions etc.

This is an offshoot from by business commercial car tracking product with additional functions added for competition stages. It has full realtime colour maps tracking your current location and supports an external LCD (will supply contact details of manuf.) which is VERY nice for "heads up" display for both driver and Nav and you can then tuck laptop away.

My friend and I used it successfully in 2004 East Coast Targa and got us to sub-second accuracy at end of 12 km+ stages regardless of road.

Being software based there is almost inifinite flexiblity and using off the shelf laptop and GPS hardware you can use your office stuff and turn into rally system for the week.

I am offering the software gratis to all F-chat member competitors on a temporary & loan basis via install DVD and if you're really really stuck might consider lending my personal high perf GPS and LCD hardware (1 only, both use convenient USB).

This is something that's both fun and functional and in the ECT it allowed us to drive highly competitively yet not be a victim of making unnecessary mistakes or risks.

Let me know if you're interested and will field questions etc.

    cheers,

    Alex.

In addition: if anyone wanted a navigator to run with them I'll bring my setup with me and share costs if we find it a mutually agreeable situation.

the last thing i need is someone sitting next to me with a laptop, i really think that some people watch too much of fast and furious.

yeah I know what you mean, most people are holding on for grim death when I'm driving let alone worry about a friggin laptop telling you where to go :D

we should do Targa Tassie in a wild child Chevy and scare all the locals with lurid slids and skids :D

how about the targa map o tassie in a fiat bambino and we call the car pasta al vongole, paint it red white and green. we will complete it on a tank full of grappa and have the locals salivating cos each pit stop will have a paid nonna dressed in mandatory black slaving over a BBQ doing the pasta.

.. for the high quality and relevance of your posts Messrs Goober and Moretti.

To the better informed and serious members out there the offer is still open if you felt like taking it up.

    cheers,

    Alex.

don't worry about those two.....pair of idiots. :p

There are only 2 Aussie FChatters entering the event I think, so you probably won't get too much interest here.....

    A voice of sanity.

I guess the silent and sane vast majority represents the major demographic while the most gibberish comes from the least number.

All the best to those in here taking part in AC2005. :)

    See you all another time..

    Alex.
