im in the process of checking out a euro 308 gtb qv
The engine tag is ZFFLA12B000052463 and the engine stamp is 02251
Can anyone confirm this is the correct euro motor for the chassis?

    Thanks
    Chas

I have an '85 QV (84 production) ZFFLA13B000052641 engine # 2291. It is very close to your #. I suspect this is about right. I don't think there is any correlation of engine # to chassis # on these cars.

    That’s correct Ron
I’m trying to find out of the engine is the correct one for the VIN
I’m not sure how to confirm it though?

    Chas,
The only way I know mine is correct is that it is listed in the owners manual or warranty coupon (don't remember which one) See if the car you are looking at has the original documents. good luck.

Yeah if you have it the dealer filled in the Vehicle Details (ignition key no., door key no., engine no., and paint code) on the inside front cover of Owner's Warranty and Service Book.

That's a pretty darn good correlation for these cars, I think. Doubt any replacement motor for the OP car would end up with a number that matches that well!

I've got 52703, engine F105A #2307 - consistent with the previous two engine numbers vs VIN.

The only other way, unless someone has it previously reported in one of the many private databases, is through Classiche certification. Used to be able to get a certificate through the owner's site but can't any more. There should be several pretty complete GTB databases aren't there? I don't remember who had them though.
