Why is a Ferrari a 12-cylinder car? Ferrari aren't a slave to tradition as much as some of the owners of its road cars are.
Aw, shucks Bullfighter - I was just pulling your leg... But, I was quoting something that Enzo himself supposedly said. He was supposedly quite enamored of the 12. The books I have read on the subject say he was fascinated by the Packard 12, of all things, and this is where the idea came from. He was also quite the traditionalist for a long time with the road cars - at least in my own opinion. Didn't like fuel injection, IRS, disk brakes, power steering, mid engines, etc. for the longest time. Anyway, as I say, I was acting like the provacateur here - I really like the V8 and V6 cars, too. But I don't want to lose the 12 - and I don't want a high-tech hybrid Ferrari. Last post from me on this - I swear upon my leather-bound Testarossa owners manual.
