    Does anybody know of an idiots guide or a step by step account of a cambelt change on a 79 gt4. Im paticularly interested in the cambelt locking tool,is it specific to the car?-any help much appreciated!.

    Brian Harper is currently doing a belt change and valve adjustment on his GT4. Hopefully he'll see the thread and chime in. His car may be slightly different, though, in that it's a 75 (shouldn't change anything) and it's been upgraded to a Mondial fuel injection system.

    There's a pretty good 2V belt change procedure here. It doesn't call for a cam locking tool, but the project is a lot easier with one:

    The tool can be used with any of the 2V 308/Mondial engines.
