    btw my belt did not snap it was intact, the issue was outside fence section snapped off due to it being welded and ran under the belt and skipped timing. The belt was totally intact, the belt did not fail. On this belt failure it sort of looks like something got in there.

    According the documentation I got with the car about the rebuild of the engine in 2016 something had gone wrong with valve timing and a catastrophic failure had followed. No root causes analysis but pretty comprehensive rebuild of top end. Per documentation no pistons were replaced.

    So, my car might have had a snapped belt, seized water pump, road debris getting into timing belt mechanism or something in that vein.

    Just a data point on belt life. Nothing more. The car typically gets driven about 100 miles when I take it out. I just drive the 355 and Cayman more. I'm the original owner of my 308 and it's more or less in preservation mode these days. I'm saving it for the next guy. :)
