Hi, I am doing a major service on my '86 3.2 and have the camshafts removed in order to reseal everything and do the valve clearance adjustment. I am really struggeling to get these oil seals out of the alloy ring. Is there any smart procedure? I have watched videos and read threads but I am getting the impression I am the only one struggeling. The difficulty for me is to put the right amount of force to the right place. I bet these are the original seals from 86, except one brown seal that must have been replaced somewhen. Any help appreciated! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Small taps in rotation around the seal, a little bit at a time, if you force the seal unevenly it may distort the ring. That was the solution! It took a while to get the right "tool" to put the camshaft ring on. I found a 70mm in diameter ring from the food industry for food decoration. I german it is called "Schaumspeisering" :-D. I secured the camshaft ring with a zip tie to the ring and put a screwdriver in the oil seal and hammered it out. Very satisfying work... :-D
